Hey!
I'm from Denmark (in Europe), and alot of techno music is being played everywhere, so i wondered if it's a european phenomenon or if it's just as big in Us.
So, is techno big in the US?
I only hear it in nightclubs. No one here ever listens to it just for fun.
not around where I live.
it's just a club thing here really.
Miami's a real hotspot for House but i don't know about techno.
Only techno fans I know are either socially awkward weeaboos or kiddies on E
Though I do like electronic music a fair bit
Here in Sweden everyone in school goes around with their phones on the most loud volume and plays electronic music, so i can confirm that it do exist in sweden to
I don't know about techno but Hardstyle is pretty big in Washington.
only in the bigger cities
a lot of people who go on the internet a lot like techno.
Portland is pretty supportive of electronic music, but I believe that Hip-Hop and Pop are closer to what you're describing as the big thing here.
Sacramento, California doesn't have much of a Techno crowd
Goes on a fair bit in Reading in the UK but garage has a bigger crowd.

Here (Sweden aswell) all I hear is hip hop or "Fjortis Dunk" (Think Basshunter, just worse.).
Me and a few buds listen to Hardstyle, Techno, House and such for the most part, tho.
None here in Montana, its all Country
So, you listen to it at clubs and stuff, but not at your own? Many of my friends listens to techno to calm down and i find that odd since i, just like you, mostly listen to at clubs.
Thanks for all the comments and responds!

most people i know dont listen to it at all.
Vancouver/Victoria-ish area seem to have boners over dubstep.
I live in London(Canada) and people seem to love bad electronic music here.
(like Dubstep)^
Obviously it depends on where you go regionally, but overall, techno is not nearly as mainstream as it is in Europe. EDM has always been bigger in Europe. In the U.S. it is mostly something regular people only listen to in a club situation, but there is a decent amount of techno fans too.
all the nerds at my school listens to it with bigass headphones loud as fuck.
Here in Australia it's pretty huge. They even invented a dance for it which says something about it.
Yea, Hardstyle is pretty big in Australia.
Its everywhere here in vegas.
Yea, Hardstyle is pretty big in Australia.
It's growing strong in some parts of Sweden, some dudes (including me) do Melbourne Shuffle during our school breaks.

ehm, both shuffle n hardstyle's still are big and people are realising new cd's n albums everyday..
and watch who your callin a twat.. o.O
Hardstyle is not dead, but it's not what i have been
Hardstyle is dead. There is no new talent worth mentioning coming to the hardstyle scene.all of new tracks bring nothing new, it's simply the same old crap.
face it, hardstyle has been run into the ground the past 3 years
plus all the cool kids these days are moving onto dubstep, which no doubt will go the same way very shortly.

also I believe some people here don't under stand what dead means
it doesn't mean that no hardstyle is being produced
