Paul McCartney Joins Johnny Depp & Crew For ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
EXCLUSIVE: After wrapping Disney’s Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have gone back to add an extra big set-piece scene. I’ve heard that it is built around Paul McCartney, who quietly has joined the cast of the film. The picture, the fifth installment of the Pirates Of The Caribbean series, stars Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Javier Bardem as the villainous Captain Salazar, and Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario play new characters and Orlando Bloom returns as Will Turner. No one was telling me what role McCartney plays. All I was told is that this is not a re-shoot, but rather an extra scene, and that there is plenty of time to add it because the film isn’t being released until May 26, 2017.
Insiders said the studio is bullish on the first film in the series to be helmed by theKon-Tiki directing team, and those insiders likened it to the spirit of the first one in the series. The last one, the Rob Marshall-directed Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, grossed over $1B globally.
There was a 5th?
Nah, this would be the fifth of the series.

It says in the article
Nah, this would be the fifth of the series.
So, Disney just being Disney.
I suffer from insomnia, and my doctor prescribed Pirates of the Caribbean movies to put me to sleep every night.
Destiny, Skype, and now POTC...
Paul is here, there and everywhere
Google Voice is shit
Think that's what he's trying to say. Don't know how it's relevant to the thread, though.
Because the 4th one was really great... Right?

:tried:
I hope they do better than the shitty 4th one. Adding a bunch of big names to the cast does not a good movie make.

If you have to use Google voice to be able to post right now you might just be better off waiting until later. Because none of what you said made any fucking sense at all :v:
i'm really glad Orlando Bloom is back for this one. one of my favorite parts of the first three was the dynamic between Jack and Will, Bloom may not be the most incredible actor ever (he's fairly decent) but it really brings Will to life when he's paired with such a zany foil. Legolas having Gimli as his foil was great too, definitely made Legolas more likable.
It's one of my favorite movie series and I've been watching it since I was a kid, definitely excited for it to come out

i liked it :frown:
I, for one, am psyched.
I loved all four Pirates films. So long as Johnny Depp remains the central character as Captain Jack Sparrow, I'll watch it.
i liked it :frown:
Better get Rusty in here to you that you have bad taste, then.

I think thats part of what made the first 3 movies better. It wasnt just Jack all the time. They played off each other.

I thought it was bad..
Is he going to play an old lady?
Oh man first Kanye makes him famous with his music now he gets to be a movie star? Good on him! :)
I just saw the 4th one for the first time last night on TV and I liked it but I can see why people would think it doesn't live up to the others. it was pretty tame compared to the rest

People thought it was tame in comparison to the first three? I thought it was wild, it was just more shit happening over and over. Not in a bad way though, it was just filled to the brim with a bunch of different stuff.

that's just what I thought. a huge naval battle around a giant whirlpool was a lot more grandeose than mermaid hunting and a bunch of regular sword fights in various locales
I was disgusted by the 4th one, to be honest.
It seemed like they ruined half the characters, the tone and all the new stuff felt hamfisted, out of place and fake. Barbossa gets turned into a pegleg for stupid reasons, the Black Pearl gets sunk off-camera between movies, and I'm still not sure of all its crew from the last films is dead or not.
There's no naval aspect, all the sea shit on Blackbeard's generic-ass ship is a bunch of lame talkey-scenes intercut with a mutiny that's silenced with the rigging coming to life and stringing everyone up.
Also, Blackbeard has really vague psychokinetic powers, and something about Voodoo zombies, and his lame ship has a big flamethrower, and the only other ship we see in the film is so nondescript I swear they just borrowed some fucking Revolutionary War reenactment galleon for a half an hour.
And, the writers realize halfway that Jack is only effective when he isn't the focus of all the talkey plot shit, and try to make a new William character in the form of random Christian fuckboy. And suddenly Jack has this out of character fear for his immortal soul, as if he hadn't dealt with edlritch abominations and pagan deities for years with flippant disregard.
Also, when the Fountain of Youth, how it works, and what it ACTUALLY does is ultimately explained, it's so convoluted, needlessly complicated, dumb, and flies so much in the face of something as simple as water that stops/reverses aging. No, THAT was too fucking simple, and we need supplementary mcGuffins to quest for and shit, like Mermaid tears, and chalices and shit...
Seriously, fuck Stranger Tides.
I think Blackbeard's sword had some voodoo enchantment going on that let it control the ship since he also had voodoo zombies and that voodoo doll

I'm also interested what part Kaya Scodelario plays in this film
