Holy shit I want both the Hydra and the Rift now. Oh god, my wallet is screaming in agony please calm down, it's okay I promise it'll all be over soon
I really think that the best application of the rift is gonna be adventure games. Think of like, a game akin to Myst using it.
The more I see of the Oculus the more I realize we are in a time what we would have considered 'futuristic' not too long ago. It makes me sad that I don't have childish excitement for stuff like this the way I did when I was younger.
Games like Amnesia are going to be much more interesting/fucking scary with this.
Heh "Hands-On"
I knew the Hydra would come in handy one day. Not that I bought one, nobody did.

Luckiest kids in the world.
These demos would benefit a lot from having both the video of the user and what they're seeing at the same time latency is the biggest issue when you're dealing with this tech

Holy fucking shit guys the future is now
I can imagine the next step would be to add an updated version the the old Power Glove to the mix, with individual finger and wrist tracking, along with Hydras tracking system and the Oculus Rift would make games super immersive. Think of actually reloading your gun in games like Borderlands (maybe, some of those guns are crazy) or a racing game, where you can shift and steer. Or better yet, Garry's mod, where manipulating things would be a breeze, or you just throw a huge ass cargo box at a friend. :v:
That would make for an amazing Myst game
Its great but gosh dang its so funny watching a person play it. I would laugh like crazy seeing some1 sit in a chair and doing that.

Imagine playing Amnesia with both of these.
This is looking pretty nice.
Imagine playing Amnesia with both of these.
They should make an oculus rift bundle that comes with the hydra, amnesia and a pack of adult diapers
Vandalism simulator 2013.
Imagine if they combined that with 3D sound:
Already possible in Amnesia.
The best use for Oculus Rift would be flight simulators. And Arma 3.
This is pretty cool, but if I tried to throw a ball or something I'd probably instinctively let go of the controller.
Throwing things in that looks SUPER satisfying. Physics sandboxes like Gmod would be super duper fun.
does the rift decrease fps more ?
That guy sure knows how to show a proper demonstration ingame compared to most people who play demos.
does the rift decrease fps more ?
I thought the resolution something small.

Oh man that is gonna look so cool when they add arms [editline]15th April 2013[/editline] This might actually be the future of gaming. I mean who has a problem with this?
Man, all iv ever wanted from stuff like this is a bar fighting game
