A group of Muslim protesters set fire to an American flag outside the US embassy in London during a minute's silence to mark the moment that the first hijacked airliner hit the World Trade Center 10 years ago.
A number of radical Islamic groups including Muslims Against Crusades (MAC) gathered outside the embassy on the 10th anniversary of the attacks.
The group of around 100 men shouted "USA terrorists", brandished anti-American placards and chanted through a loudhailer.
Several members of the Muslim groups made anti-American speeches following the flag burning.
One said: "You will always face suffering, you will always face humiliation, unless you withdraw your troops from Muslim lands."
Another declared that America had been "defeated in Iraq and defeated in Afghanistan".
In all honesty, this pisses me off. If we went and burnt a Quran, its these guys who would be the most pissed off.

For some reasons the media don't work?
Stay classy radicals, Stay classy.
Dragging the whole religion down with their lack of brains.
A lot of Americans hate all Muslims solely because of 9/11 so this isn't helping.
Ahaha, we're defeated
They don't have a clue, do they?

So it's humiliating to have an actual army, and the best they can do is burn a fucking flag to show their anger and power?

Well what do you expect. They literally have sand in their ass and that would anger anyone.
They were protesting against America in London? Hmm.
I want a angry rating. I hate the double standards in society where every minority seems to be protected by a "it's their beliefs/way of life" bubble. A white christian burning a Koran would be called and uncivilized thug. But no, it's OK because they're a minority.
It's the same with the gypsies (oh sorry am I meant to say "travellers"?) who are being evicted. If they weren't a minority, they would never get the media attention. They are breaking the law and have been given fair warning, now they should get the fuck out and pay taxes.
I might travel over there and burn a Quran next to them
We should burn a Quaran in protest to their protest... but then they would start riots and burn shit down so we better not, and that is the difference between Crazy, and non Crazy

At least France didn't care about what people thought of gypsies and decided to kick them out.
They burn our flag, the second we burn their Quran they'd possibly go jihad on our asses.
We're too politically correct for our own good in the UK.
Oh fuck, here we go again.
If they weren't a minority, they would never get the media attention.
okay let me plot out your amazing thinking here
if the majority of people were gypsies then gypsies being evicted wouldn't get media attention, that's basically what you are saying.
i'm pretty sure if gypsies were the majority of people getting evicted would get more media attention considering the majority of people in a population would be getting evicted so basically 0 thought went into this comment.
and how the fuck do you bring up gypsies anyway

Fucking gypsies
And we just let them get away with it did we?
The fact that they did it for 9/11 specifically just shows that they're kind of being dicks about the whole situation and they deserve to be thought of as terrorists for doing shit like this.

how is it fucking politically correct to allow flag burning that doesn't make any sense.
i'm glad they are allowed to burn a flag and express opinions, that's something that they probably wouldn't be able to do in their home countries.

That was probably brought up as it's fairly big news here atm.
They have the right to protest and show their opinion, though.

They knew the cops couldn't get them there. :v:

As in, we're too politically correct to stand in the way of them doing this, and if we did shit would hit the fan. And they shouldn't have been allowed to do it not in the slightest.
People in this thread fail to realise that there is in fact a bigger outrage when an American flag is burnt than when a Quran is burnt.

that's dumb they're just a group of idiots like every single other time.
i remember the last controversy about large-scale muslim protests in the UK.
turned out to be about 20 lads who fucked off back home at around 6 PM.
they should be allowed to do this, though in the classical british way round the clock inspectors should assure the public that all safety regulations regarding flag burning have been met and that the ashes have been discarded in accordance with the Health and Safety acts.

Same thing applies to burning the Quran.

They have the right to do it just like we have the right to criticize them for it.

I bring them up because It's another example of the double standards of society/the media, and has been in the news constantly for practically 2 weeks here.
And what I'm saying, that if a person of an ethnic majority built on land without planning permission, was given a long period of time to move with a warning, then refused to move and is going to get kicked out by bailiffs, they wouldn't get any media attention. Maybe a mention in the local Echo at most.
But because these poor "travelers" are a minority we get all sob stories in the news how a woman doesn't know how she's going to get her 50" plasma moved and all her furniture, when they've broken the law plain and simple.
