He runs files and writes reports until his eyes ache to build a case against some felon that will be dealed out by a shameless shamus or an honorable who isn’t honorable.
A policeman must be a minister, a social worker, a diplomat, a tough guy, and a gentleman.
Of course he’ll have to be a genius because he’ll have to feed a family

How about lets not forget the ones written in stone in Washington DC because they made the ultimate sacrifice.
I respect peacemakers.
Here in America, it's a little shameful the police enforce the little [unconstitutional] laws that are cryptic enough to fool you into abiding them; for the better of course, because as all laws are for, it's to keep the peace. The majority don't know their rights and complain they're suppressed. What's actually wrong there is the fact with power comes responsibility, and the ones who would not be able to handle it are, coincidentally, the same ones who complain. It's scary to think of how easily the masses can be controlled, and that's where the hate for police comes from... but then it's frightening to think of how much the public would abuse their rights if they only knew them. Things would be hectic with no one willing enough to, well, keep the peace.
I acknowledge a policeman's sacrifice to protect the public, buuut a lot of people just don't understand what it means to serve and protect I suppose.
I think a lot of people forget that these guys and girls are human beings, not just some robots.
They're making a living trying to make it safe for the rest of us, they're putting bread on their tables for their families or themselves. Some may not be the best of the apples, but to kill someone in a cowardly way, just because of a routine traffic stop, or you're smuggling drugs.. Pathetic.

And here is the great paradox of ridding the world of bad people. You see, if they put a bullet in the head of everyone who would shoot a police officer at a traffic stop so officers won't die in the line of duty, you are murdering what at the time are still-innocents. They haven't done anything wrong before they do it, and when they do it, it's too late to fix.
Though, I will agree, I felt rather physically ill at the video clip of the guy shooting two cops with an AK when stopped in traffic.
