Text-enhance is swiftly becoming the bane of my internet browsing...

I'm sure many of you have witnessed the increasing prevalence of the blue underlined words surfacing across the internet:

... They are constantly popping up in my face in that passive-aggressive way that really infuriates me. They have even wormed their way into my academic e-journals whilst I'm researching for my work!
http://text-enhance.com/ Claims that this advertising model is "Non-Intrusive to users" and as a current marketing student I am finding that the rising amount of pop-up messages are really painful and I instinctively make the effort just to not read their advert.
So out of curiosity and as a student of marketing I would appreciate your views on this form of advertising... and does anyone really ever click on them?
I have only ever click on these by accident, but I have never seen them on Youtube, only on Yahoo and stuff, maybe you should get AdBlocker

What the fuck?
That's the worst aggressive advertising technique I've ever had to deal with. I hate it.

Spam.
Not very non-intrusive. Banner ads obviously take up a large block but can be placed by the web designer to compromise between visibility and prettiness of the site.
This thing picks out random words in a page and makes them stand out undeservingly. Looks horrible and unprofessional.
