Whats up guys? I'm about to head off to college and I want to grow marijuana for a living. My question to you is..
Should I major in plant science or something? Or does it not really matter as long as I actually know how to grow in ie; I look up guides on the internet and read books to learn this shit?
They check your power usage, look for solar panels, and they'll notice if you let your money.... show. You don't need to major in botany to know how, if there's a major that could help you..I guess criminology or chemistry could be handy.

how would chemistry help? and if you're serious about growing and you actually get cash flow you could just get a good lawyer instead of learning the shit yourself
a lot of my friends who like to learn about plants and do plant related things major in horticulture
Just a tip: You shouldn't grow and sell unless you are ready to get caught (don't do the crime if you can't do the time, neh?).
With your apparent inexperience, I doubt you'll last 3 years.

For analyzing the cannabinoid levels of novel strains. Although breeding or modifying cannabis will require additional knowledge of horticulture and genetics. All of which could be learned on your own in addition to a major which leads to an alternative career path you aspire to. I'm also biased towards chemistry, but I have a cousin who went with botany and really enjoys her work (think less cannabis, think more burpee though)

if you wanna grow in a house you gotta make a panel that is water cooled and basically put it on top of your closet so that cops cant see the heat

No you don't have to do that. You could just buy a mylar grow tent or make a light proof grow cabinet with an appropriately sized exhaust fan that has some ducting leading to a vent.
That's if you plan on starting a small grow, if your growing a few hundred indoors you're going to have to bring in A/C units to cool the room/floor and that's going to draw a lot of power which will look suspicious.

If you're only growing 1 or two plants police aren't going to see heat coming from your house and assume you're growing weed, the only time they use heat vision to find grow ops is for large operations.

Hmm I would modify it and put a 250w hps along with a 4'' inline fan and a small carbon filter in there if it can afford a little less space. He would see a huge difference in the yields comparing 4 cfl's to a 250.
looks a little small to me, did outdoor last year and those plants were quite a bit larger than that

a bit late for that, the world is going to experience some dramatic changes in the coming 50-100 years. the oceans are acidifying more and more, aquifiers are being destroyed, impending food shortages, diminishing biodiversity, etc
