Hello!
I was banned from Google AdSense program a few days ago and instead of writing some post bitching about it I wanted to share what it taught me. I started a blog recently so posted the article there - I'm hoping to get into writing more (not just blogging), so I'd love some feedback on the article and the writing itself.
In case this post feels too self-promotional, at least know that the blog is not monetized at all because there are no ads :)
Let me know your thoughts!

3+ 'dumb' tags? Guess this isn't the right audience. It's k, just wanted to share.
What did you do to get banned?

then leave the link in your profile, set under your site name and if people like it they'll go to it

Absolutely no idea. My understanding is exactly what they told me in the email (which is pretty ambiguous). I've always been careful to follow their rules to a tee.

I'm not exactly a frequent visitor as you can see. I've just had this topic on my mind and wanted to see if any interesting discussion came from it.

Well then in that case so be it. However I wouldn't expect much to happen, s'far as I know Facepunch isn't really like that.
I know that feel, banned as soon as I passed $100 (minimum payout back then, think it's lower now) because a few months before some retards spammed clicks in an attempt to be 'helpful' (isn't google supposed to ignore this?). Several appeals later and I've given up and made a new account in a different name

I did look for Business board or something. Only just noticed all the Masturbation threads.
Sooo.
you either went to Fast Threads or part of General Discussion.
You could look on some other board but I'd think this is some sort of advertising.

Also stay out of Fast Threads, its for your own good.

Well, I don't get anything out of posting this thread except discussion material. The blog is so new that it's not monetized like I mentioned. So if it gets closed for linking to offsite content well, that's OK too.
I was really hoping to hear about some similar experiences from other AdSense users, and on the official AdSense forums everyone just complains.
If i remember right, spreading your links around the web on your own in order to get more visitors or to get better results in search engines can get you banned. The whole process of your links being spread must appear to be "natural" from google perspective.
Correct me if i'm wrong.

Playing with black market SEO might get you banned, but I never delved into that. Natural links (for example, the one from this forum to my blog post) are allowed and actually encouraged.

Generally if you want people to not spam you dumbs you post the content from the blog post as well as link.
Only posting a link with very little information is often seen as view grabbing.

but you just wrote a post bitching about it

Except the part where he didn't bitch about it.
What did you do to get banned?
Because he used auto-clicker.

Oh, well I'll keep that in mind. Thank you.
Because he used auto-clicker.
No.
No.
"poses a risk of generating invalid activity" means he fucking used auto-clicker.

A band saw poses a risk of cutting your hand off, that doesn't mean it slides around actively seeking out hands to attack
A band saw poses a risk of cutting your hand off, that doesn't mean it slides around actively seeking out hands to attack
i didn't write that message. I just try to show you what they means. Because i banned for autoclicker too.
"poses a risk of generating invalid activity" means he fucking used auto-clicker.
I never used an auto-clicker, and as I stated multiple times I have always followed the rules closely. Just because you got banned for auto-clicking doesn't mean that line means the same for everyone else.
Did you copied some material form other sites and posted it on your site?
Because he used auto-clicker.
Wrong. People can fuck someones account over by repeatedly clicking ads. That's why if Google catches you putting "please click ads to support us" or anything similar on your page, your account gets suspended.
A band saw poses a risk of cutting your hand off, that doesn't mean it slides around actively seeking out hands to attack
Actually...
Did you copied some material form other sites and posted it on your site?
No, all original content. Like I said, followed all the rules. I know them all, I followed them all. I was not click-bombed or anything (unless it took place over a long period of time); I checked click stats constantly and even reported possibly offenders repeatedly.
But, the point of the post was to share what I learned, not to bitch about being banned. Even if Google unbanned me right now, there's no way I'd go back to using AdSense.
