A man reportedly screamed 'this is for Syria' before allegedly slashing a person's throat and attacking up to three people. Police were called to Leytonstone station after reports of a stabbing in the ticket hall. Officers tasered a man at the scene. Shocking video footage shows people running in terror after the incident at 7pm on Saturday. A Met Police spokesman said: "Police were called at 19:06hrs on Saturday, 5 December, to reports of a stabbing at Leytonstone underground station. The male suspect was reportedly threatening other people with a knife. "Met officers attended the scene. A man was arrested at 19:14hrs and taken to an east London police station where he remains in custody.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/terrorism-in-the-uk/12035552/Knifeman-screams-this-is-for-Syria-in-London-tube-machete-attack.html Video: https://twitter.com/News_Executive/status/673255367284031489
jesus fucking christ really hope the person that got slashed is ok, seems like they got some very quick medical help this is completely fucked up
they died apparently
holy fucking shit it took how many fucking days?
How the hell are you supposed to stop nutjobs like this beforehand?
i think it's time people prepare themselves to hear about extremist attacks multiple times a week, up to every day i feel like things are going to get worse before they get better
How the hell are you supposed to stop nutjobs like this beforehand?
Investigate Islamic extremists within your borders, don't let in anymore Islamic extremists, etc.
How the hell are you supposed to stop nutjobs like this beforehand?
You cant. Or its near impossible. You would have to start coming out with and carrying out some of the shit Trump says.
Reporter on Sky News just referred to it as an "isolated incident" How wrong could you be?
Investigate Islamic extremists within your borders, don't let in anymore Islamic extremists, etc.
Wow, someone should tell all the security agencies that have been struggling to deal with one of the most challenging security issues of all time this. The problem with violent extremism is that it can happen in isolation and in a rapid period of time meaning that the only ways to deal with it involve going to crazy authoritarian extremes. Its a miracle that so many plots are stopped even with the massive amount of resources that are committed to surveillance and anti-terrorism.
Why do we even bother bombing this place
You can't stop crazy people. If it wasn't Syria, this person would have snapped for something else. Crazy people cannot be predicted or reasoned with.
I am in desperate need for an head-in-the-sand apologist forum-resident to reconfirm this is not starting to become indicative of a deeper problem. Namely, the clashing cultures, and the resulting non-integration and social-segregation and tensions. MDeceiver? BDA maybe?
Why do we even bother bombing this place
Because while it exists and thrives it serves as a motivator even stronger than perceived grievances with western foreign policy for terrorist attacks. Whilst Al Qaeda was weak and fractured by attacks there was a lull in terrorist attacks, at least in the west where it is more difficult to organise attacks.
I sadly feel that this is only the start of more to come. Never have I felt this much tension between cultures. Not to condone this sort of act even slightly, but I feel the decision to begin air strikes is just going to encourage this sort of "martyr" behaviour. I think we entering a very dark period of humanity.
Reporter on Sky News just referred to it as an "isolated incident" How wrong could you be?
I think they're saying that there was only one attack and it wasn't multiple simultaneous attacks. The fact this was so small scale using a knife with only one person also suggests that this was more of an 'isolated' incident rather than a large-scale, organised attack.
Why do they cry 'this is for Syria' when they're fighting for a nationless caliphate, in the process destroying Syrian identity and state? Not even their maps have 'Syria' as a region either. They're literally about reversing the gains that created the Arab nations.
How the hell are you supposed to stop nutjobs like this beforehand?
Carry a gun.
Carry a gun.
I've been wondering, if there's an active shooter and a bystander joins in and starts shooting and then someone else comes over, he won't know who to shoot, then what? Sounds really dangerous.
Why do they cry 'this is for Syria' when they're fighting for a nationless caliphate, in the process destroying Syrian identity and state?
I think they're saying that there was only one attack and it wasn't multiple simultaneous attacks.
Carry a gun.
so you want to carry a gun to stop a nutjob before they do this? yeah, that makes sense. Also, carrying guns leads to more gun violence then it solves. Instead this guy would probably had a gun and would have shot several people.
i think it's time people prepare themselves to hear about extremist attacks multiple times a week, up to every day i feel like things are going to get worse before they get better
Unfortunately it feels like this is going to be the case. This is just something Europeans are gonna have to get used to.
I've seen so many pictures and videos lately showing destruction in Syria that are obviously fake, and people on facebook take it as though it is the absolute truth. Seems only a few months ago the same sort of people were getting emotionally invested in similar sorts of pictures condemning the movement of refuges from Syria to Britain.

It's kinda scary that our technology has advanced faster than our ability to educate people on it. With all this communication the idiot masses are even more mobilizable than before.

Don't be so dramatic. You're spouting same crap these idiots read and believe.
It's kinda scary that our technology has advanced faster than our ability to educate people on it. With all this communication the idiot masses are even more mobilizable than before.
I'd say that WW2 was way worse then this.

Sure some of us have access to more sources of information, but that doesn't also mean we have better critical thinking skills.
