Go to any nuclear bunker in the UK and you'll see all of these. It's really , really interesting but some of these techniques just seem like they are made to make you think you'll be alright yet it's pretty obvious you'll be vaporised instead.

Funny though, my grandparents hum "protect and survive" all the time.

It goes without saying that if you are within the blastzone,you are fucked.

But I suppose that these techniques could be useful in evading the thermal pulse or various shrapnel (or the fallout dust, for that matter), if you are far away enough.
