There isn't really any depiction of atmospheric volumes (yet?), so just imagine all the stuff inside the hangar is in atmosphere. The first explosion is audible because both you and the canister are on the station, in retrospect I should have added some more canisters floating in space which would be silent when shot.
Not realistic since you can still hear stuff in space, it's just muffled.
How can you hear stuff inside a ship and not hear stuff outside of ship if there is no door on the ship?
Not realistic since you can still hear stuff in space, it's just muffled.
everything you hear in space is the result of vibrations traveling through whatever you're in to your head. re-watch it with that in mind now.
Not realistic since you can still hear stuff in space, it's just muffled.
Well if you're in space, in a ship landed on a platform, and an explosions goes off inside the structure the platform is attached to, it's going to cause vibrations, and those would make sound inside your cockpit [editline]3rd January 2014[/editline]
everything you hear in space is the result of vibrations traveling through whatever you're in to your head. re-watch it with that in mind now.
Damnit
You'd still hear your weapon firing because the vibrations from it would pass through your own body - anything that's touching you (directly or indirectly) would still transmit sound to your ears. The only stuff you wouldn't hear in space is stuff that's completely separated from you, ie a ship in the distance blowing up.
You'd still hear your weapon firing because the vibrations from it would pass through your own body - anything that's touching you (directly or indirectly) would still transmit sound to your ears.
hence the super muffled sound
everything you hear in space is the result of vibrations traveling through whatever you're in to your head. re-watch it with that in mind now.
How could it cause vibrations in your head from that distance (in regards to explosion)? There's no way of the vibration traveling to you.
Not realistic since you can still hear stuff in space, it's just muffled.
I don't think you know how sound works. [editline]3rd January 2014[/editline]
How could it cause vibrations in your head from that distance (in regards to explosion)? There's no way of the vibration traveling to you.
You're standing on a giant piece of metal that just had an explosive detonated on it's surface. Have you heard what it sounds like during a stage separation on a rocket? I should also add that sound will travel through steel several (hundred?) times further and faster than it will through air.
How could it cause vibrations in your head from that distance (in regards to explosion)? Unless the thing he blew up was attached to the space station.
Not the gun, the thing he blew up with the gun. Unless the thing he blew up was attached to the space station.
It was.
Not the gun, the thing he blew up with the gun. Unless the thing he blew up was attached to the space station.
Assuming what he shot was pressurized a 'thud' would be a result of gas partials being smashed against the hull of close by ships
How can you hear stuff inside a ship and not hear stuff outside of ship if there is no door on the ship?
Airlocks don't exist in the game, so just imagine the ship has a magical atmosphere inside it.
Not realistic since you can still hear stuff in space, it's just muffled.
lol [editline]3rd January 2014[/editline]
You'd still hear your weapon firing because the vibrations from it would pass through your own body - anything that's touching you (directly or indirectly) would still transmit sound to your ears. Sure it will suffer from a inverse square law, but I'm pretty sure it'll still reverberate your hull at that range.
Not the gun, the thing he blew up with the gun. Unless the thing he blew up was attached to the space station.
bro come on use some common sense. this is ridiculous and you just look retarded.
Aw, I thought this was an actual update for the game for a second. I rushed to my steam library :v:
Squeegy, you always have such a cool array of sound effects in all your videos, where do you get all of them from? That BeamNG video you did a while back is a pretty good example too.
Can we download this mod?
I propose making squeegy lead idea man of keen software.
can there be aliens in this game that invade and attack your ships. and impregnate you with their young
can there be aliens in this game that invade and attack your ships. and impregnate you with their young
Full on Flood mod, with biological ship overtaking as well. [thumb]http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/14/13780/infest1.jpg[/thumb]
not enough aeiou
Scientifically accurate, no. Nice and atmospheric, yes.

Ambient hums and metal stress sounds came from Left 4 Dead. The explosions come from too many places to count. The BeamNG video had engine sounds from automation, and additional stuff by every racing game ever (mostly xpand rally) and Half Life 2.
Scientifically accurate, no.
Not the gun, the thing he blew up with the gun. Unless the thing he blew up was attached to the space station.
How about you stop being such a fucking nitpick.
Sounds heard while inside of the station would actually be much louder than on Earth considering there isn't much space for sound to "diffuse". The vibrations you can hear through the ship and suit would be much more audible than on Earth because of the same effect, too.
John Madden.
Can we download this mod?
Nope. It's edited onto a video.
Damn, I really like this. I know it's just edited footage, but it makes all this space stuff super eerie.
