I hope it gets better into the campaign, it's already 3rd on my list of first person shooters this year and likely to drop further if its a Modern Warfare clone when there's more imaginative games like Bulletstorm Crysis 2 and Duke Nukem all out around the same time
Call of Duty with Koreans is the impression I'm getting.
sounds like shit
Call of Duty with Koreans is the impression I'm getting.
It will have multiplayer with vehicles. It's by the guys that did DC for BF1942.
I think the guys who did DCmod for BF1492 lost motivation after EA corporate cleansed them (DICE).
Pretty much, except its blown out of proportion in Homefront..everything in this game screams US > everything
Like how all the Koreans are using American weaponry. Shit, if a country could invade the US they better have better technology than America. But I did read that you could join the Koreans as a collaborator, I'm not sure if that's going to be like a decision you can choose in the final mission (which would suck) or if its just a whole separate campaign (which would be better.) I'd also like to see the American guerrillas portrayed similar to the insurgents in the Middle East now as I bet that's almost exactly how rebels would act if the US was ever invaded. Like seeing the rebels behead Korean soldiers or executing collaborators and stuff. I'd like them to show the dark side of violent revolution and that no matter the country, the people of that country will go to desperate measures to keep what's there's. Paralleling the Middle East would make the story so much deeper. Of course no American studio would have the balls to do something like this, especially with the media breathing down the videogame industry's neck when it comes to stuff dealing with America's image.
I really had hope for this game. Until I saw a video of the gameplay, and it's pretty much a carbon copy of CoD
I've had a feeling since day 1 that this game was going to be shit. Seems that I'm turning out to be right. And I totally raged when I watched one interview with a dev, who said that the introduction of "Battle Points" was partly to encourage team-play. How can you give players incentive to rely on each other when each can summon a weapon as powerful as a tank right before his eyes? That encourages anything but teamwork.
Seems like many reviews are different for this game, so i still plan to get the best buy pre-order that comes with a free headset, so i can try it out myself.
Generic American Guns AMERICA FUCK YEAH plot Generic and arbitrary PLOT TWEEEEST Boring competitive multiplayer Gimmicky 'OMG LOOK AT THIS TECHNOLOGY' segments. (Controlling some stupid RC bullshit that will only pop up once and never be mentioned again) Generic MILLER/FOLEY/SOAP FOLLOW ME AND TAKE POINT game play. Ten bucks we'll see the NK being cruel dicks compared to the godlike Americans. Yeah I'm not even gonna play the demo to this.
It's a COD clone and actually has the buzz to sell copies, good god this will never end i am crying tears
This is disappointing to read, I was actually kind of looking forward to this game until this thread
So much potential wasted. I really want to play a guerrilla game (like OFP Resistance's campaign) rather than the 9 million action-y CoD shooting games out there.

I have a feeling it will be mediocre, but that free Metro 2033 in the Steam preorder is very tempting.
I read somewhere that the storywriter for this is a book author who does very patriotic "Murrica'S Best" Books, so I'm not surprised with the shit story. The graphics look kinda blurry, and if the weapons handle like they did in Frontlines, they'll handle like shit. Multi's gonna be a MW2 cloned piece of crap, I'm sure of that too. Ima spend my money on Bulletstorm and Crysis 2, at least those games are interesting.
I feel sorry for the dead horse the author beat getting his point across. Do we really need 4 paragraphs detailing the singleplayer in a KAOS game is subpar? I am still buying for the multi. [editline]23rd February 2011[/editline]
Call of Duty with Koreans is the impression I'm getting.
Calling it "X with Koreans" is kind of unfair. It takes elements from both CoD and Battlefield, while also having its own flavor (create a class is done differently, and Battlepoints.)
I hope it gets better into the campaign, it's already 3rd on my list of first person shooters this year and likely to drop further if its a Modern Warfare clone when there's more imaginative games like Bulletstorm Crysis 2 and Duke Nukem all out around the same time
Oh come on, really? Bulletstorm: Corridor shooter with more cursing and "skillshots" Crysis 2: Multiplayer is Call of Duty with a Nanosuit Duke Nukem: Has been thoroughly bashed by the media, but I'll reserve judgement myself None of the above are bad games, but dismissing Homefront as a clone and putting those three up as "imaginative" is a bit embarrassing.

I read in another review that 3 months ago there were a lot of issues with the press demo but they fixed all the issues that was brought up by the press. No surprise, just look at the gameplay: Can't tell it apart from MW2, it even has hitmarkers and the exact same knife animation not to mention clay pigeon AI

I was horribly mistaken. I'll be skipping this game.
That gameplay makes me want more. Ya'll is crazy.
That gameplay makes me want more. Ya'll is crazy.
I've gotten tired of the CoD type of FPS, so seeing something that looks exactly like another clone is not very encouraging.
Looks exactly like Call of Duty, not buying.
Looks exactly like Call of Duty, not buying.
no it doesnt.
no it doesnt.
I don't know about MP since I don't give two shits about multiplayer, but you can't deny the gameplay clip I posted isn't a carbon copy of the Modern Warfare games, especially 2.
Yes I can. If that is a "carbon copy" of MW2 than it is also a "carbon copy" of all other modern combat games.
