If there is ever going to be a Dead Space movie, John Carpenter would be the best choice hands-down.
I'd prefer Nolan for direction

maybe Carpenter could be advisor for special effects or something
as long as Nolan writes. And directs
I do like sci-fi horror, but hopefully it won't be as terrible as that cartoon spinoff shit.
dead space has a lot in common with The Thing so it seems like a logical choice imo

not nolan's type of film
Carpenter would be perfect for this. The Thing is one of my favorite movies of all time.
John Carpenter hasn't been that great over the last couple of years. Not even he could make F.E.A.R. 3 any better that enjoyably OK.
If this ends up happening I hope there's a bunch of practical effects. That's kinda Carpenter's thing.
Usually I'm worried as hell whenever I hear a video game is getting a movie adaption... but I think I'm alright with this. Dead Space, at least the first game (since I haven't bothered as much with the other 2), manages to capture the feeling of many sci-fi horror movies pretty well... and it bears some heavy resemblances to things like The Thing, Event Horizon, and Alien... so I think with the right direction, this could be pretty awesome.
Can we have Michael Bay to write and film the plot?
IF he can do a "Thingy" Dead Space (aka, same quality of effects and of...things), goddamnit man, do it!
not nolan's type of film
Definitely not. I'd love to see Carpenter's touch on it.
Even Guillermo del Toro!
Hey, worse comes to worst, we'll always have Uwe Boll.

I'd rather have costumes and makeup than effects where possible.
M. Night Shyamalan for director
M. Night Shyamalan for director
The Ishimura was earth all along.
I'd rather have a System Shock movie.
M. Night Shyamalan for director
It was really a cover shooter all along!
I bet it'll end up like the Thing prequel where they make all sorts of realistic and complex animatronics, only to be told "Actually, we want you to just use CGI."
Still, Carpenter would be the best bet for a movie adaption like this.
please don't fuck this up
game to movie is usually shit (and vise versa)
But Hollywood wont give any money to it because it doesn't have a good love story in it.
(This was one of the reasons Guillermo del Toro didn't get any funding for a "In the mountains of madness" movie)
I'd rather have a System Shock movie.
tbh System Shock's setting has always seemed kind of generic to me, especially in comparison to Dead Space. it's just kind of your standard cyberpunk sci-fi setting with megacorps, AI's and technobabble quantum entanglement cloning, only the second game threw the super spooky mutants into the mix and made it a billion times scarier. but with Dead Space, the setting is more ripe for exploration and has an infinitely more interesting aesthetic, meaning any movie based on it would probably be much cooler.

I disagree but throwing this out there: Inception was originally written as a horror film.
I shit my pants when playing the first game, I shit my pants when playing the game on my phone, now I'm gonna shit my pants watching this movie (if it happens).
Dead Space already has an anime movie thing, doesn't it?
Dead Space already has an anime movie thing, doesn't it?
Yeah, it's a prequel to Dead Space 1 though.
obv tarantino should direct the dead space movie!

Say roar again mothafucka?
Seeing as the games are a joke, but the story sounds pretty good, a movie sounds like it would be the best choice for the franchise.
Yeah, it's a prequel to Dead Space 1 though.
it's also not very good
Wait. Carpenter already did a Dead Space movie.
But, if another one was going to happen, I would like Carpenter to do it.
