I hate not the fact that he actually killed it, but that it looked more like a torture, cat doesn't do anything until bird leaves the bath.
I feel bad whenever a cat brings a bird in. Usually it's a younger one and by the time I get to it its wing(s) are bleeding so it can't fly :(

do cats always just fuck with their prey like that? my dog is a serial killer with like 5 mice, 3 moles, 4 birds, and close combat with a groundhog but as soon as he gets a hold of them he just shakes them

Usually, they eat it after a while. It's probably not be a good idea to let your cat eat them anyway as they might get sick and all that.
