• Too Much Helium Will Kill You In A Heartbeat (VIDEO)

Stupid teenagers, if you're breathing helium you are NOT breathing oxygen, which means you end up passing out. This is seriously a dangerous and life threatening thing. Many kids have done exactly that except they dont wake up. It will kill you in a heartbeat. DON'T DO IT. Translation: "Hello! Hello! She passed out... I think!" Dude, I remember on my step dads birthday, we bought a propane tank full of helium, got drunk and filled up balloons. Good times.
Holy shit. I'm just glad I only do this with the deflated balloons, never gonna ever even think of doing this with a new one. Or ever again for that matter :tinfoil:
The girl in the video died? Holy shit. I've seen it a few times in the last couple of days and I laughed. :ohdear:
Except that inhaling helium has exactly the same effect as holding your breath. You won't die that easily from it.
She breathed in way to much helium.

Also, I distinctly remember a thread on GD a few months back about depriving your body of oxygen, we don't need the same exact discussion.
She didn't die. Also that is not a true source. If she would of died then you would of heard about it on the news or something.
No, she probably went unconscious.
Ok, good. Thanks.
Once unconscious, the body would begin breathing naturally and expunging all the helium from her lungs and replacing it with air. There was no way this girl could have died in the 5 seconds she had more than 60% helium in her lungs.

This guy seems like a spambot. He keeps posting stuff from daily blender with the exact same title and description.
Haha. The only way this could kill you is if you strapped on a tank to your face and breathed in nothing but pure helium for a few minutes. Helium is not dangerous at all.

You can tell because the website link is also under his avatar.
You really only have to be careful when doing this with gases heavier than air, as they tend to stay in your lungs (But they make your voice lower, it's hilarious).
Check all of op's threads, all have some sort of watermarked image leading to some guy's blog. But they're still entertaining.
I did it two nights ago, still alive.
Just breathing helium won't kill you because it isn't actually harmful to your body. The only way you could die from it is if you're retarded and forget to exhale it and get oxygen into your body. It takes something like 3 minutes for your brain to die from lack of oxygen.
A+ thread would deffo read again

If you ever looked inside a deflated balloon, you'd notice there's a sticky, slimy layer. That shit goes in your lungs. I mean, do it, it's funny. Just not often.
Helium is the most noble (nonreactive) gas there is, it can't bond to the hemoglobin (molecule that transports oxygen) in your blood so only trace (harmless) amounts would dissolve into your blood stream. Of course you'd begin to asphyxiate after the second or third consecutive breath of helium, but you'd just feel dizzy or in rare cases either feint or throw up. Basically, you'd have to TRY to be able to kill yourself with helium.

Oh you dumb swedes.
No such thing.
My chemistry professor and the experiment I did said otherwise. What, is it not on wikipedia? lol
I passed out once cause I held it in for about 20 seconds.. i just fell down and hit my face on a coffee table.. woke up like 30 seconds later
