So, this showed up in my recommended videos. Actually going along with it for a whole year, that's pretty impressive.
It's too bad that the revelations were so awkward.

I haven't read any comments in a year

Why would you do such a thing
This is not witty, funny, or anything but borderline mental. Do you know how disrespectful this is to Japanese people who have struggled for years to be able to transition from their fluent language to a natural sounding english accent? My friend Kotaro, a Japanese foreign exchange student, who literally learned english in a few years, and finally sounded almost fluent in english after 10 years, well be would pretty much beat your ass and call you a disgrace to your country.
This is pretty much disgusting and you should should be ashamed. Japan should not accept you, and the people you deceived should simply disown you.
You fucking freak. I'm fluent in Japanese thanks to teaching Kotaro english, so I actually benefited, unlike the fact that you're essentially just patronizing Japanese people.
Once again, fuck you. This is not some god damn "social experiment", this is a jackass who couldn't get any attention by being himself. You exhibit various personality disorders.•
It's beautiful.
I've faked accents before with varying degrees of success, but that was for a day or so, a whole year would be... something else. Gotta hand it to him.

I once pretended to be Australian with a very stereotypical GUDDAY MATE accident towards a new kid for a laugh in school years ago for about a week, hilarious as fuck and he fell for it, I had to wonder how my friends kept there composure.
But yeah, fuck doing that shit for a year.
He was pretty awkward when revealing it, like he was afraid of people getting mad at him. Kinda ruined it for me. But damnnn, doing that an entire year is nuts.

My coworker is Australian but has pretty much no accent. He always uses a heavy Australian accent on the phone though, just so people come in to the office and can't figure out who they talked to.
reminds me of my brother who tries to fake a swedish accent because he thinks it's cool
but it's so weird that it just makes him sound like he's from some mainland chinese village
Me and my girlfriend do random shit like this for fun at restaurants/places we've never been before. She used to waitress at a pretty popular restaurant here in Texas near one of the airports, she couldn't help but to fake a Texas twang around traveling foreigners when she was serving them. Fuck though, an entire year? That's impressive.

That's amazing, I almost wish I could see the replies.
there was a kid in school like 2 grades under me that pulled this same shit with an irish accent, a couple of us in the music dept. caught on eventually when we noticed for like a week he switched up to a kind of jamacian sounding accent, but most of the kids we know STILL think he's pure blooded irish
I feel as though this would be funnier if instead of awkwardly announcing how he was faking an accent, he just captured peoples confused reactions to him talking 'normally' in a nonchalant manner, like in the middle of a conversation or while answering a question in class and not bringing attention too it.
after having to put up with who knows how many people trying to make fun of my thick Chinese accent, i've gotta give kudos to this kid for having so much patience. i doubt i could lie to my friends for a week, let alone a year.
Anyone knows the reason why this awkward video shows up all of a sudden in everyone's recommended videos?
yeah, i was surprised to see it posted on here, it showed up in my recommended videos as well despite me not searching anything related to accents ever. I tried watching it but it was so cringey, it was really hard to watch the guy and the recordings he filmed
One time I took a vow of silence for a month and during that time I became friends with a girl, after I decided to break my silence I decided to sit her down onto a couch. The words that uttered from my mouth was, "balls-balls-balls-balls-balls-balls-balls-balls-balls-balls-balls-balls-balls of steel". I know the face of someone trying to process something like in the video, however I also know what shock and awe looks like too when you take it to extremes.
i once faked having friends and being cool for a year haha you should have seen their faces when i revealed myself at the end of the year
