SuperHeavy is a recently formed supergroup consisting of everyone's favorite frontman, Mick Jagger (Who the fuck is that?), Joss Stone, Dave Stewart, the "Junior Gong", Damian Marley, and Indian film score composer, musician, philanthropist A.R. Rahman. According to Mick, the group wanted a convergence of several different styles of music. Mick says he wanted them to things from reggae, to ballads, to the Indian genre of music. Mick commented that he's also glad to have a group full of other singers, so he doesn't always have to feel pressured to be the singer. He can do other things such as play harmonica, strum the guitar, etc. Dave came up with the idea after hearing the sweet music sound rushing into his home in Jamaica. Dave got Mick into the idea, and Dave also got Mick into adding the Indian orchestra, where A.R. comes into play. In early '09, the Heavies all went into the studio to write songs that "had meaning." They recorded a total of 29 in 10 days. At the moment, SuperHeavy has two songs out. The reggae influenced, laid-back "Miracle Worker," and "Satyameva Jayate" which means "Truth alone triumphs." , in which Mick sings in Sanskrit. Their self-titled album will release sometime in September this year. Sounds cool. I'm a big fan of Joss Stone, so I'll be interested in seeing where this goes.
I'm glad this is spotlighting Joss. I haven't heard of her until this. Her voice is very, very good. edit: Rahman posted the full version of Satyameva Jayathe! http://soundcloud.com/superheavy/satyameva-jayathe

It's probably the best showcase of her voice:
That's got to be the weirdest lineup in supergroup history.
Weird lineup, but I like super groups like this
Brilliant stuff. All of the members work really well together despite coming from different genres. Although, Mick Jagger's a friggen zombie.
