After seventeen years of rumors, speculation, and false starts, director Roland Emmerich appears to finally have some traction for the long-awaited Independence Day follow-up, tentatively titled ID Forever. If all goes according to plan, the sequel will actually be comprised of two feature length films – Part I and Part II – with the first installment tentatively scheduled for July 3rd, 2015. . Unsurprisingly, ID Forever has been a regular topic of conversation for Emmerich on the White House Down press tour and today we’ve got good news for fans of patriotic speeches and outer space cigar smoking – as the director has confirmed that both Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are expected to return for the sequel(s). ID Forever: Part I invades theaters on July 3rd, 2015.
http://screenrant.com/independence-day-2-cast-jeff-goldblum-bill-pullman-will-smith-cameo/
No. Just leave ID4 where it is
No Will Smith, though.
No Will Smith, though.
So it's going to be like Jurassic Park 2, then. Sam Neill, in this case Will Smith, is out and Goldblum gets the lead, in this case still Goldblum. I don't hate Jeff Goldblum, in fact I like him, so this doesn't really bother me. I'm more concerned for the state of the movie itself. It seems like a very very hard thing to do right.
Now when someone writes "The Goldblum", I assume you mean the famous Goldblum laugh. At least I think it's a laugh.
No Will Smith, though.
Will Smith declined any role in the film due to not being able to kiss or lick his son as a plot device. (don't know how alien smith has become, look it up)
Please no....a sequel to this is just unnecessary. The first one wasn't that good anyway.
Please no....a sequel to this is just unnecessary. The first one wasn't that good anyway.
Although I agree with you that Independence Day is not a "good" movie, that doesn't stop it from being one of my favorite movies of all time.
Practical effects or get fucked. Kindly.
Yes, please. I loved Independence Day. Here's hoping Will Smith is in the sequel.
i dont wanna die a virgin to this movie
The first one wasn't that good anyway.
it's not a good film really but shoot me with a shotgun and fuck me sideways if it's not a hell of an entertaining piece of explosion porn
I thought the characters and everything were a lot better than most catastrophe movies. Plus, it was definitely a milestone in visual effects and "epicness" Back then, spaceships blowing up whole cities captured in that way was completely new. The movie has a great pace, too. I saw it in theaters when I was 10. Blew my mind
I still have Independence Day on VHS. The scene with the autopsy in the glass lab room scared the hell out of me when I was little.
Please don't make another Independence Day. Make a "Childhood's End" movie. I'd watch the living fuck out of that.

As long as Goldblum turns out to be the alien I'm fine with it.
