Eh, I think he shouldn't have done it. The school shouldn't act so harsh about it. I do not except people from other countries to agree with me, but think of it in this way, a Flag represents a nation as a whole. Every nation has a flag, and it is kinda proper sense you should at least respect it. If there was no napkins left, then just shake your hands off, don't grab the flag whether it's American, German, British, Russian, or freakin Santa Clauses and use it. The whole "it's just a piece of cloth" might be true, but it's also a symbol that you should respect regardless of what nation it's from.
