Kurdish car bomb hits Southeastern Turkey, 6 dead (1 baby, 2 toddlers), 39 wounded
Kurdish militants have attacked a police station in southeast Turkey with a truck bomb, killing six people including a baby and two toddlers, in one of the biggest strikes since the conflict reignited in July, security officials said on Thursday.
The overnight blast ripped the facade off the station in the small town of Cinar. A Reuters reporter saw nearby windows blown out, shop shutters mangled and streets covered in debris.
The mainly Kurdish region has suffered a surge in violence since a two-year ceasefire between the state and Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) rebels collapsed, reviving an insurgency that has killed 40,000 people over three decades.
The conflict is a challenge to Turkey's security forces, which are fighting on two fronts. On Tuesday, 10 German tourists were killed in Istanbul in a suicide attack by a suspected Islamic State militant.
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said a five-month-old baby was among the dead in Cinar, vowing in a speech that Turkey would pursue its fight against "every kind of terror".
Security sources said a one-year-old and a five-year-old had also died, along with a police officer and an unnamed fifth person, and that 39 people were wounded, including six police.
I'm a member of a Kurdistan group on Facebook, and the way they're all praising this attack is fucking creepy. Although I don't approve of the Turkish government, this is fucking horrible. What did a baby and two toddlers have to do with it? Bastards.
Look at this disgusting shit:

Do they not even fucking realise the hypocrisy of what they are doing?

Where did I say that I was surprised? Mob mentality is mob mentality.

You can actually see Facebook on damage control regarding some political materials.

Yeah, they took down Syrian PKK's (YPG) facebook page recently. They're usually sensitive when it comes to things regarding terrorism and stuff.
And shit Cypher, I would have never guessed you'd condemn pkk's actions. :v:

I'm not Cypher_09, but terrorism is terrorism, I'm sympathetic to the idea of Kurdish independence, but not violence in achieving that.

the only way to stop Turkey from killing Kurd civilians is to kill Turk civilians
makes sense to me!

Kurdish terrorist cells operating in Turkey aren't the YPG. They're PKK. It's an important distinction.
I personally find Turkish warcrimes against the Kurds to be abhorrent (among other fucked up things the Turks do), but i can't support terrorism. The right to self-determination should be expressed democratically rather than through violent uprising. Although it's a muddy concept considering the US was formed by, let's not beat around the bush here, terrorists and is now the leader of the free world.

YPG is just what they call them in Syria/Iraq. The difference between them is as great as the difference between Al Qaeda and Al Nusra. Most PKK fighters are not even Turkish citizens, they arrived here from Iraq. Especially when our ex-president Turgut Özal allowed mass Kurdish influx to Turkey from Iraq in the 90's

What kind of warcrimes?
Turkey isn't exactly blameless in this situation either. I'm not saying they deserved it. I must also stress again that i don't support this.

I did a big writeup a little while ago about it on a SH headlines thread. I'll just put the link here. It's also sourced from reputable internationally respected newspapers, organizations and journals.

Perhaps warcrimes wasn't the right world, although I don't feel like it's bad enough to be considered an atrocity. It's certainly something awful that happened though.

Turkey is doing the same thing with helping ISIS, oh wait do Syrian children not count? Or wait should I start talking about the Armenian genocide, that to this day the Turkish government and people still deny?

Sorry for the late reply, was banned.
The group is awful. If you want to check it out, most of what they post are pictures of dead people with the caption "Look at these brave heroes :'( the Turkish government slaughtered them yesterday", just posts like that every where. I'm not one of Erdogan's most devout followers but the page is absolutely ridden with propaganda. Beautiful girls photographed entitled "look at this hero"
They don't use facts or evidence. They use pure emotion (grief, hatred, lust) to propagate their political agenda and I'm against that 100%, no matter what the cause.

Thanks, that's the gist of it.

As long as they get to kill Turks (no matter their innocence) and become Kurdistan, it doesn't matter because they will call everybody else the aggressors I.e. Iran and Iraq.
I'm for Kurdistan, but as usual the vocal minority on social media are representing the majority of people on the ground fighting ISIS -the misrepresentation is real. There are kurds who want nothing more than peace among everybody inc' Turks (I know them) only their sovereignty, but most don't speak English and/or don't have the internet -so we see these idiots.
The praise of the Turkish terrorist attack sickened me to my core and I'm no longer affiliated with the group.

literally banning their language from media and classifying them as mountain turks in censuses, lol
I don't think the Turkish government is deliberately massacring Kurds anymore. Altough they're still forcing culture-politics on them, there are linguistic areas in Turkey that are almost exclusively Kurdish ( And have been for hundreds of years ) yet the Kurdish language is forbidden in public buildings like schools. Suppression of their language in privately-owned sectors has been relaxed. I'm sure there are Kurdish television stations in Turkey these days. When there is enough room for peaceful expression I'm not sure an armed rebellion like this is justified anymore.

They're not massacring them, but the government are still killing them indirectly or allegedly, directly. Whether the public reason is because "they are Kurds" or not is arguable, but a lot of Kurds just so happen to be dying by Turkey instead of ISIS members. The terrorist attack in Cinar was a retaliation (hypocritical, senseless and murdering, but retaliatory nonetheless)
They say there's no room for peaceful expression of independence with Erdogan thinking "he is the next sultan". You know a lot of people hold the Turkish government to be as bad as ISIS themselves and want do do everything possible to bring them down? I don't think things are as peaceful as you think.

While it's not bad as before I can't see why Kurdish shouldn't be allowed in public buildings within the Kurdish majority areas but I do believe that we'll get there someday.
