Horror films are generally my favorite films, I love seeing them with friends or a girl and getting the chills. Nothing's better than getting a scary ass movie you won't forget and watching it in the dark on a cloudy night.
Some of my favorite horror films:

[REC] filled with creepy monsters and abandoned fire stations
this movie is also in spanish, so if you don't know spanish you're gonna need subtitles

Saw I was actually scary, the ones after that were just kind of repetitive.

The Decent is scary as fuck, all taken place is a small dark cave filled with monsters. Really something that makes you never want to be in that kind of darkness

Dawn of the Dead, my favorite zombie film
I've seen a lot of scary movies, and I'm not saying these are the only good ones just these are a couple of my favorites.
What're some of your favorites?
Horror movies with creepy black-haired women (The Grudge, The Ring and etc.)
Freaks. It was marked as a horror film in its day, but nowadays it could almost be seen as a documentary of how people in freakshows were treated. It's also where that GIF of a severely deformed woman clapping comes from.
[editline]08:09PM[/editline]
And Freaks used actual 'freaks' for the film, some of them did not cooperate so well, but most of them were OK with it.
The Descent was overrated as fuck.
Started off great with the claustrophobic setting and then turned into a stupid killer Gollum monster movie.
I'm more of a slasher guy, I prefer films with knifes and shit. A Nightmare on Elm Street (The origianal) is my current favourite.

Fuck yeah, Slasher films!
My favorite horror films:
The Thing: Back before CGI ruled everything, special effects/make up departments actually had to build monsters and make them look realistic. This movie is awesome because it has gory monsters/effects, great suspense, great one liners, AND it stared Kurt Russell in a big hat.

American Werewolf in London. Back before werewolves and vampires glittered, there was this fucking movie. Again, great real special effects. Great sense of humor (John Landis), and it was actually kinda tragic and sad.

Jaws. Just go fucking see it.

Slither. Campy, gross, funny, and just fun for a few jumps. Plus, it's got fucking Nathan Fillion and Jenna Fischer in it!

Finally, The Exorcist. Yeah, it's old. No, it has no CGI. Yes, it's got subliminal messages and even a few near-subliminal images (don't blink). I dare you to wait till everyone is asleep/gone, turn off all the lights, and put this fucker on. You won't sleep. Plus, it's simply good cinema.
