Police in Japan are investigating whether a serial poisoner is responsible for killing as many as 48 elderly patients by injecting disinfectant into their intravenous drips. Suspicions began after an autopsy showed two elderly patients had been poisoned in Oguchi Hospital, Yokohama. Sozo Nishikawa and Nobuo Yamaki, both 88, died on 18 and 20 September respectively, after having a drip administered. Investigators found 10 unused intravenous drip bags with small holes in their rubber seals on the fourth floor of the hospital, where the two elderly patients had died, The Japan Times reports. Police believe the suspect may be an insider with medical knowledge. They are now also investigating the deaths of 46 elderly patients since July, who were being treated on the same floor as the two deceased men. Hospital staff told the newspaper there had been no outbreaks of infection which could account for the deaths. The two patients died around a lightly staffed three-day public holiday. The entrance to the hospital was locked and guarded at night. Last month, a staff member’s lips became blistered after they consumed a drink that may have been laced with bleach, The Japan Times said in another report. It is unknown whether the incidents are related.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/japan-poison-hospital-elderly-patients-oguchi-hospital-yokohama-a7341391.html
Holy shit.
But why.
this isn't the first time a medical professional has killed many patients through similar methods, usually they have high bodycounts because of it
But why.
people can be monsters
But why.
Because it makes him feel like a god.
Last month, a staff member’s lips became blistered after they consumed a drink that may have been laced with bleach, The Japan Times said in another report.
So the patients aren't the only victims. The work environment must be terrible if you suspect colleagues might be trying to kill everyone around them.
Holy fuck. This is awful. There are some sick fucking people in this world.
Sad we have to share the world with monsters like this. No room for them.
Because it makes him feel like a god.
i'm thinking maybe he is sick of all the elderly everywhere, maybe something to do with government pension money & putting a strain on society. but i might just be looking too much into someone like that.

There was also a case like this where an Italian Nurse injected 96 patients with potassium chloride (which causes cardiac arrest in high enough doses), simply because those specific patients irritated her in some way.

Donald Harvey got his start at the old hospital that used to be right up the hill from where I live, its nickname was Murdermount. He later confessed that during the ten-month period he worked at this hospital, he killed at least a dozen patients. Harvey is insistent that he killed purely out of a sense of empathy for the sufferings of those who were terminally ill. He has also admitted that many of the killings he committed were due to anger at the victim
Wasn't there one recently reported or is this a new one?
Those poor old people.
Wasn't there one recently reported or is this a new one?
I think the one you're thinking of is the mass murder of disabled people back in July
Reminds me of the Malmö hospital murders here in Sweden. These type of murders are pretty common.
