Sounds like steam is the way to go.
DRM: Steam is ALWAYS the way to go
waiting on the goty version anyway no point in missing out on the content till then but it will be a steam purchase then
why on earth would the retail be cheaper?
why on earth would the retail be cheaper?
Yeah I'm wondering as well.
The way things are going will mean that the retail version will end up being cheaper, but the digital version will be more convenient…
That doesn't make any fucking sense.
why on earth would the retail be cheaper?
Strange thing is that it always is.
Or was, at least here in Portugal.
Nothing was ever the same after mw2's release. Suddenly every new PC game went from 50 to 60€.
So the Download is more convenient, has no packaging, and no DRM developed specifically for it, but somehow would cost more?
what fucking sense does that make. You pay more for a less intrusive DRM, thus making this bullshit.
Steam DA2 will probably be $60 and $100 retail in Australia. So yeah, as ridiculous as the prices are, there's no reason to not get it on steam over here.
I was always under the impression that digital was more so the retailers wouldn't get pissed by being undercut and not stock any of that publishers games, been like this in the UK for a while with most games being £25 retail but £27-30 on steam.
and are online checks, which mean that only five PCs can be used to play a single version of the game within a 24-hour period.
I'm suprised none of you are talking about this.
I'm suprised none of you are talking about this.
Why would anyone be talking about that?
I'm suprised none of you are talking about this.
It's not like you have 5 PC's in your house that can handle it anyway.
Only 5 PCs? god damn.
Would anyone actually need to install on more than 5 PCs at once?
Maybe you have a family and you like to play games together, multiplayer or not
Why would anyone want to play the game on 5 different pc's within a 24 hour period I mean god damn what the fuck.
It's a very unrestrictive DRM system, I like it.
Steam sounds like the way to go, but the retail DRM is fairly unrestrictive, just be on an online computer once in a while, I mean why would you have 5 computers with no internet access?

It's actually pretty smart. If a pirate releases a stolen key, only 5 people can use that key every 24 hours. This way, not to many pirates can play, but if you bought it, theres very little restrictive.

It's a step in the right direction.
Only 5 PCs? god damn.
5PCs in 24hours. Are you really going to play 1 game on more than 5 pcs in one day? If yes, tell me more, I am interested how or why you will do that.
This is how most games should do there drm steam is steam retail stays retail not retail turns into steam
This is how most games should do there drm steam is steam retail stays retail not retail turns into steam
This. Multiple drm layers is the worst thing that can happen.
Issac Clarke is in Dragon Age II?

If you pre-ordered Dead Space 2 you also got a code that'll unlock an armor in Dragon Age 2 which resembles Isaac's engineering suit.
Good, I don't want it to be bound to steam or have install limits because I want to be able to sell the game if I don't want to keep it in the future.
If you pre-ordered Dead Space 2 you also got a code that'll unlock an armor in Dragon Age 2 which resembles Isaac's engineering suit.
Now all I need is a magical Plasma cutter, and I'm off to Dragon Age 2.
If you BUY Dead Space 2, you'll get a code that will unlock Ser Isaac of Clarke's suit. You also need to register both your copy of Dead Space 2 and Dragon Age II into your EA Account and you're good to go.
Kinda like if you buy Dragon Age Origins on the Xbox 360 or PC, you will get a code that will unlock the Blood Dragon armor for Mass Effect 2 on the Xbox 360 or PC. The PS3 version of ME2 comes with the Blood Dragon armor for free.
I love how people complained about this. What's wrong with DLC before release? It's not like we have to pay for it. So many people getting hung up over DA2's DLC.
I was expecting bad news but this is good.
why on earth would the retail be cheaper?
Some games are still doing this "hurp durp $ = €" and I am able to find some of the retail games for almost half the digital prize here in Sweden.
why on earth would the retail be cheaper?
Usually 40usd for a pc game in america.
However for some fucking reason it's 40euro in europe.
40 Euros = 55.42400 U.S. dollars
Hurray! So it's cheaper buying retail here.
But fuck that shit i still use steam, fucking losing dvd's and shit is a fucking pain in the ass.
