According to Tarantino:
“As of yesterday, Disney came to the ArcLight people and said, ‘No, you are going to play Star Wars in the Cinerama Dome for the entire holiday season, and if you don’t, if you honor your deal with The Hateful Eight, we will not allow you to have Star Wars, the biggest movie in the world. We won’t allow you to show it at any of your ArcLight movie theaters.'”
This is not the first time Disney has been accused of strong-arming movie theaters. Some theaters in Germany refused to show Avengers: Age of Ultron over a financial dispute with Disney after company raised its fee for showing the movie from 47.7 percent to 53 percent of ticket sales.
I know Star Wars episode VII is one of the most anticipated films of all time, but disney needs to quit fucking it in the ass like this. Yeah i fucked up on the number.
What The Fuck This is some major bullshit
Dude... of course.
I know Star Wars episode IIV is one of the most anticipated films of all time, but disney needs to quit fucking it in the ass like this.
Episode IIV: Revenge of the Awakens
And the worst part is they're going to get away with it and keep on doing it.
Episode IIV: Revenge of the Awakens
Episode IX: The Force Falls Rolls Over and Falls Back To Sleep.
Might just wait a while and download Star Wars rather than giving it my money then tbh (User was banned for this post ("warez" - Orkel))
Might just wait a while and download Star Wars rather than giving it my money then tbh
It's not like they care. Star Wars will be the number #1 in the box-office in the entire history, and even that is meaningless. The real money comes from merchandise.
So as far as I can understand and read me to, the Cinerama Dome only has one theater, right? Wouldn't they be able to show two different movies the same day? Other that some sort of pretentiousness (I think is the right word), why couldn't they show both?

Switching film is hard when it comes to non-digital film. If you only have one screen it only makes sense to run one movie only. disney and tarantino had a deal with the theater that star wars gets it first for two weeks, then hateful eight. This makes sense because star wars comes out two weeks earlier than Hateful 8. The Cinerama theater is also one of the few 70MM Theater screens left in america. they dont need to move equipment into the theater to play the hateful 8 movie how it's intended. this is a vital thing. So disney is essentially telling tarantino to go fuck himself.
And the worst part is they're going to get away with it and keep on doing it.
Disney are getting away with plenty of things as it is [t]https://i.imgur.com/wXGv8tX.jpg[/t] I mean, really? [editline]17th December 2015[/editline] And people used to whine about those yellow rat fucks they call Minions... it feels like the Minions marketing campaign, turned all the way up to 11. [editline]17th December 2015[/editline] In their defense, I sorta understand their position -- Star Wars is their goose that lays golden eggs, they paid good money to get it (4 Billion) and this movie is one giant egg... and want to make sure *everyone* sees it. But definitely not like this.
Disney are getting away with plenty of things as it is [t]https://i.imgur.com/wXGv8tX.jpg[/t] I mean, really?
How 'bout some star wars apples and oranges? Maybe grapes is your thing? [t]http://ak-hdl.buzzfed.com/static/2015-12/14/11/enhanced/webdr12/enhanced-25016-1450109757-5.png[/t]
The real money comes from merchandise.
This fucking movie is as relevant as ever.
[t]http://ak-hdl.buzzfed.com/static/2015-12/14/11/enhanced/webdr12/enhanced-25016-1450109757-5.png[/t]
The last thing I want to think about when eating grapes is Yoda's wrinkly, green head.
The real money comes from merchandise.
It's probably *the* main reason why I don't understand how could they have sold it for so low. 4 billion, compared to the TENTHS of billions it makes solely in merch, is a damn bargain. They could have easily asked for more.
The last thing I want to think about when eating grapes is Yoda's wrinkly, green head.
Grape is too yesterday. They should be Yoda Testicles.

It's a behelit.
Episode IIV: Revenge of the Awakens
Episode three?
This is straight up minions 2.0 material.
Atleast I'll always like this merchandising more but it's still overboard
This fucking movie is as relevant as ever.
It's funny, because one of the related videos that popped up afterwards is called "15 dumbest movie merchandise ever" and it's a fucking C-3PO tape dispenser. :v:
sometimes people forget that disney is among the biggest corporate bullies in the world they own fucking everything
Doesn't this break some anti-competition law?
Hardly surprised, star wars is fucking massive and people are a bit more hyped about it than they are for the hateful eight.
Doesn't this break some anti-competition law?
I feel it violates the rights of said theater to show whatever they god-damn want, that's for sure.
The biggest movie of all time! Whether you like it or not.
I have more respect for Tarantino's right pinkie than I do for the vast majority of Disney.
I feel it violates the rights of said theater to show whatever they god-damn want, that's for sure.
They can only show moves per agreement with the companies. If the company doesn't want business with them, or has conditions then it is in their right to break or follow these conditions. There's no rights broken here at all.
