I think he's right, the problem is that it's just a tribute to the band, and less of a game. There's no challenge, it's no fun if it's not a challenge. This is where I think Guitar Hero Metallica excelled. The Songs weren't impossibly hard, but they were challenging and ridiculous fun to play.

I want to know some more about the boob jiggling too. :q:

He's so right when he says that there always a person who doesn't want to play The Beatles RB, one of my friends gets fucking pissed everytime we start the game. Starts to whine about the songs and shit, ruins the experience for all the others. :saddowns:

The people who boast about their Rock Band/Guitar Hero skills are a vast minority anyway, and they're all twats. The MAJORity of Rock Band/Guitar Hero players just play it to enjoy music and have fun. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that; it's just a way to interact with the music you're listening to and have fun while doing it. What you're saying is akin to telling somebody who is tapping to the beat on their car steering wheel that they're stupid pretenders and should learn how to play real drums instead of wasting their time.

Rockband the Beatles should have been Rockband Black Sabbath.

I don't want to spend tons of time and money mastering an art/hobby that I don't have any interest in. Nobody (reasonable) actually plays Rock Band as a substitute for playing a real instrument. It's just a video game based on music. Sure, you get a "rock star feeling" when playing the game, but it's all part of the fun. A real musician is about perseverance and talent; a Rock Band player is about having fun and listening to music. There's a huge difference. Just because I spend money on something doesn't mean I "might as well" use it on something totally unrelated. It's something less respectable than the something else due to the continuing disgust a lot of people still have toward the act of playing video games, but the way other people feel shouldn't deter me from having fun with my friends.
