Although I'm sure a majority of Facepunch users don't like the pop punk genre, but fuck it, there might be a handful of people that like this genre as I do, look at this thread, and discover new bands. If those handful of people can expand their music library, I'll be one happy fella! Some of you might not have even heard of this genre of music, which is because it's considered a 'dead' genre. I don't really agree with that, though.

My last thing to say is that, if you wanna try to get into Pop Punk, or you're familiar with it, listen to the fucking songs with the [b]**[/b]! I'm not lying to you when I say those songs will get you liking this genre :D! Shit, if I went into a thread with a bunch of youtube videos to check out, I'd like an honest recommendation of what to really look at!

I love that band's sound, in fact I never really had them in my library until now!
I found them pretty much randomly back in 2007/2008 or so, then I forgot about them for a while until late last year one of their songs got stuck in my head out of nowhere and I just felt like listening to them again.

Most is, but you can say that about 90% of all genres. The more bands, the harder it is to find the good stuff.
Karate High School is probably the most unique Pop punk band I've heard.

a lot of it can be pretty generic 'pop punk' music yeah, but a lot of bands have a little different sound in like their vocals or something that gets me liking it a lot

The Wonder Years are pretty much the only pop-punk band that I like these days, theres a couple others I've liked in the past but their novelty wears off pretty fast (I know right?)
I've seen Of Mice and Men, The Wonder Years, a bunch of them, and played shows with Carridale and a ton of Pop Punk bands I'm told are supposed to be big. I always forget their names though. Personally, I can't stand the vocals. Completely kills anything that might be good about the rest of the music. Trying too hard or something. That and I always get this egocentric vibe from it all. I don't care for it.

Just saw Sparks the Rescue on Saturday, they're really an under appreciated pop-punk band.

Thats the issue a lot of people have with A Day to Remember is that they have such heavy hardcore songs but sneak so many light songs in with them just to sell more records.
ADTR are fucking great though so its ok lol. But yeah there's LOTS of bands that have started blending hardcore and pop punk recently lol.
Also why has there not even been a mention of Blink-182 in a pop punk thread I mean they're pretty much the best pop punk band ever and easily one of my favourite bands ever they're fucking amazing (come@mevedi)

i agree that a lot of bands that are hardcore just say their pop punk, but a lot of bands IF NOT MOST that are pop punk are like "whatever we're just a band". I really don't think Pop Punk is dead! I think it is in Las Vegas, because the main shit here is screamo and deathcore. But like in the east, fuck no pop punk isn't dead
