Local Mexican militia armed with hunting rifles and semi's, fight back cartels.

For lime grower Hipolito Mora, it was time to organize and pick up arms when a packing company controlled by a brutal drug cartel refused to buy his fruit. For Bishop Miguel Patino Velazquez, it was seeing civilians forced to fight back with their own guns that made him speak out
They negotiated a peaceful march, unarmed, with the protection of the military. As some 3,000 entered the square, sharpshooters believed to be from the Knights Templar opened fire on the crowd from a church tower and city hall, where municipal police were standing watch. Several were injured.
In the Valley of Apatzingan, daily life continues under the watch of military helicopters and around sandbags marking dozens of checkpoints, some by soldiers and others by self-defense groups
Outside of Apatzingan, men roam with hunting and semi-automatic assault rifles.
With all the shooting threads, thought i'd share how our south cousins use their weapons.
I'm glad they decided to go down the route of self defense forces and not vigilante justice. No matter how good your intentions are vigilantism backfires eventually.
I bet in a few months we'll be seeing a news article about how this entire militia was found beheaded.

I fucking hate my country and it's only gonna get worse. If I remember correctly they are mostly funded by rival cartels. I remember in one interview with one of the militia leaders, when asked where'd they all get the money to buy assault rifles, he responded cynically and just said it was from saving up from their farming business. They funded a militia with money from a tiny lemon farm... Alright. Whatever you say.
There's some photos of them walking around with a fucking .50 Cal Barrett ffs
Of course I'm oversimplifying all this. This isn't even the same group I think. They actually agreed to march on without weapons, knowing they'd be facing the cartel. That speaks volumes, I think. Still, as a concerned citizen, it's not pretty, knowing it's not gonna get better any time soon.

reminds me of these guys.
but these guys arent vigilantes.
I heard Mexican drug cartels don't fuck around so these guys must have some pretty big balls to face them
The cartel's name is the Knights Templar? Seriously?

Knights Templar, in spite of what Assassin's Creed and every anti-papist conspiracy have told you over the last two decades, were an organization devoted to keeping roads open and free of banditry.
It makes sense they call themselves this.

yeah except these knights keep the underground roads open to funnel in arms and funnel out drugs, and they are the bandits who murder the shit out of anyone in their way. Them calling themselves the Knights Templar would be like the Taliban calling themselves the flying nuns.

Thank you for sharing some light on this, it was said that some of the groups have also been infiltrated too. Hopefully there might be at least a few groups not backed by rival's and dedicated to actually helping.
It's gonna be a shame when them and their families are found beheaded.

I feel like after doing the dirty work, the Cartel will try to murder the whole militia.

All this war because junkie idiots can't stay off the sauce and cause demand for drugs that greedy cartels so gladly sell them.
Wild west is back
Or that they became a drug cartel of their own in order to finance equipment.
Or that they became a drug cartel of their own in order to finance equipment.
That's pretty Nietzsche
being in a cartel should just be punishable by death, they're no better than terrorists and are just the absolute scum of the earth, up there with the likes of the Taliban, UVF, IRA, pirates, etc.
but I know how you guys feel about capital punishment, so, Hreh
but good on these people for taking a stand, god knows how Mexico is going to handle all this
But but but Zapatista Army of National Liberation.
EZLN is great bunch.
But but but Zapatista Army of National Liberation.
I'm talking about the groups that are responsible for beheadings, gang violence and just killing and raping for the sake of it.
These guys, the Zapatistas, and the group mentioned in the article should be safe
obviously you'd list the groups that are a direct threat to the public, you'd never be too general with things like this
Wild South/Wild Latin America
The Battle of the Alamo? :v:
take away drugs and the cartels still have a shitton of methods to get money
its too late to win the war on drugs
no they don't. drug money is their primary source of income if you get rid of drugs the cartels become greatly marginalized. they would still exist in human trafficking and prostitution, but those industries are not big enough to support the cartels and their wars on the scale they are currently on.
