If convicted of bank fraud in Virginia, Manafort faces up to 270 years in prison, but prosecutors say federal sentencing guidelines call for much less time: four to five years. He faces up to 15 years on the charges of filing false tax returns and up to 20 years on the charges of failing to report foreign bank accounts. Guidelines call for about eight to 10 years, though.
Manafort will appear before Judge T.S. Ellis III, a senior judge appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1987. The hearing is set for 1 p.m.
Manafort had been set to appear in Virginia this past Friday, but that hearing was delayed because of a severe windstorm in the D.C. area that closed government buildings.

might as well just merge it here: he's officially pleading not guilty to everything
President Trump’s former campaign manager pleaded not guilty to tax and fraud charges in federal court in Virginia Thursday, as he appeared before a judge in the second criminal case brought against him by the special counsel investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Paul J. Manafort last week also pleaded not guilty in a related case in Washington, D.C., where he is set to go to trial Sept. 17. Manafort lives in Virginia and was indicted there in February.
During the Thursday hearing in U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Judge T.S. Ellis III put Manafort on home confinement, requiring him to wear a GPS bracelet, and set a trial date for July 10. It is expected to last eight to 10 days.
He said he didn't do it, how many times can you ask him??
Who is he saying this for? No one believes him.

He might.

That was the last time. Now they're going to ask the jury.
Makes perfect sense. Manafort is into the Russians for a lot of money. If he flips, he dies. Probably better to keep resisting a while longer, until he quietly gives Mueller the info he needs.
Currently facing 305 years in prison.
Washington (CNN)Paul Manafort could face the rest of his life -- and almost 300 years or more -- in prison, a federal judge said Tuesday.
"Given the nature of the charges against the defendant and the apparent weight of the evidence against him, defendant faces the very real possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison," federal judge T.S. Ellis III of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia wrote Tuesday.
Ellis last week placed Manafort under home incarceration while wearing a GPS monitor and set a $10 million unsecured bail.
I can't help but consider this utterly retarded. How the fuck is it several lifetimes worth of prison under Virginia's laws, but only 4-5 years under federal law?

Honestly wonder if there's a background agreement to have the trials put on for show while he feeds Mueller and other members of the investigation info.
I mean the chance is nil but it's fun to speculate

Different states have different laws. Most of the federal stuff just gives a "minimum", while states are each allowed to give additions to the minimum however they please.
