Donald Trump Wins Rights to His Name Trademarks in Chinese Court
President Donald Trump is poised to receive something Tuesday that he has been trying to get from China for a decade: trademark rights to his own name. After suffering rejection after rejection in China’s courts, he saw his prospects change dramatically after starting his presidential campaign.
Trump’s late triumph in the fight to wrest back his brand for construction services could prove to be the first of many intellectual property victories in China during his presidency. Each win creates value for Trump’s business empire, and ethics questions about his administration.
At stake are 49 pending trademark applications — all made during his campaign — and 77 marks already registered under his own name, most of which will come up for renewal during his term. The construction-services case also raises the possibility that the president could claw back control of more than 225 Trump-related marks held or sought by others in China, for an array of things including Trump toilets, condoms, pacemakers and even a “Trump International Hotel.”
Now you too, can shit on Trump.
Only in China can you trademark your name.
This sad, ugly man's ego knows no fucking bounds

I am not praising him. i am speechless how he spend so many money and a decade just for this
President Trump™ is a registered trademark of Donald J. Trump.

to be fair, Trump is not just his name, it's a brand with a standard to it. It's like Gucci winning the trademark rights to use the name Gucci in China.
business man running business named after him wins copyright to his business name in china where knockoffs are rampant, scientists determine this means that his dick is small and his ego is huge

I gotta agree with Egevened here, did you actually read the article or did you just immediately assumed he copyrighted his own name for ego purposes based on the headline?

regardless of what the article says my point still stands
regardless of what the article says my point still stands
No it doesn't, try putting that point into something that actually makes sense first. Actually try to make a point that's logical, because the correlation about your point and this article is next to fuckin none.

So that explains his entire anti-China mentality.
Will we suddenly be best friends now?

if the state appears to benefit from it
regardless of what the article says my point still stands
dont cut yourself on that edge man, calling trump egotistical is a really unpopular opinion
I wonder what the logistics of this actually are at this point. Is this awarding the right to Trump himself or his company which he currently isn't technically in control of. (Other than the clause where he can revoke his "blind" trust at any point in time.)

I like the one I just made:

Though I do need to work out some kinks with it.
Too bad he's completely separated himself from his brand and won't be able to enjoy the fruits of his labor until he leaves office.

Should I be allowed to produce products with "Disney" on them?
Just a reminder that trump means fart in British slang.
Only in China can you trademark your name.
Lol, don't kid yourself.
Yeah there's nothing bad about this, other than the fact that he only won the lawsuit because he's the President and China wants to win favors. Otherwise China has little respect for western copyright laws, and it's one of the major reasons western countries don't do business in China.
Even though the TTP aimed to fix that, it was also a pile of shit that also aimed to grant excessive judicial power to corporations, and shit on workers.
