Okay what is the point of mentioning that it is in your town? Lots of threads do this and I've never understood why.

It's always more dramatic when its right near you
Less partying in your town then.
Not a huge deal.
Drug busts happen all the time in my city, and most don't even make the news.
Actually one of my old neighbors got busted for having a gro-op in his home when I was about 17.
Aggravated drug trafficking? How is that different from normal? And really, use of a telecommunications device in a drug transaction? What a fucking worthless and trumped up charge. Go focus on meth labs or crack dealers or something, goddamn, it's ecstasy. What a waste of time.

Because he wanted to point out that he lives in the area that it happened in. There's nothing wrong with that, it's pretty natural. I don't really see how it could annoy you. Also, I'm from Tulsa, so I heard about this on NPR Tulsa this morning. Big ecstasy busts are rare here. Getting caught with 3 pills will get you an involuntary manslaughter charge, even though no one was hurt or killed. Not sure if this varies from state to state, though.
It's annoying because he put "My Town" in the thread title, not the City.
By all means, mention you live there in the thread, but put the place in the title.

Yeah, you're right about that. Shouldn't have been in the thread title.

Are you fucking kidding me?
A meth-lab exploded less than a block from my middleschool when I was in 7th grade.
Needless to say the school was built in a classy area

I don't have any official sources for that at the moment, but it's been brought up in every ecstasy discussion I've been in. Didn't believe it until I started hearing it from multiple people. One moment while I do a google search.
:EDIT:
I can't find any legitimate sources, but my search came up with a bunch of forums/question and answer sites that all say the same thing. Kind of doubt that it's just a nationwide rumor at this point.
More and more I find it so hilarious that we're wasting time and money on bullshit drug busts like these when the real life wrecker is oh so socially accepted and always ready to be guzzled down people's throats in copious amounts.
I watched a drug bust once, local SWAT unit came blazing down the road in their up-armored motor home thing and the team dismounted, then made a forced entry into the house. At the same time about 4 patrol cars pulled up (they were all stationed nearby as part of the plan) and blocked the street, officers got out with rifles and kept watch. Next thing you know there were six people handcuffed with their face in the lawn.
Whole thing happened in about 2 minutes.
At least I assume it was a drug bust. Bad part of town. But for some reason it was never in the news, which was kind of creepy. Things like that are usually big enough.
My friend once became incredibly sick after his dad mixed a bunch of chemicals to try and make meth.
:smith:
400 ecstasy pills is absolutely nothing at all.
Not gonna go as far as saying this isn't news, but this is really nothing.
