God damn, I just rewatched the movie yesterday.
That creme on the strudel is a bit of an overkill :v:
Honestly, that's my favorite shot in that movie, the cream being scooped out of the bowl and I have no idea why.
Oh god, making Apfelstrudel is the most stressful thing you can do with dough. It's pretty much a confectionery that converts Frustration into Sweetness
I love that strudel scene so much It makes me want to eat pastries every time I watch it too

Hands down my favorite movie, the cinematography is top notch all the way through
My mom made a apple strudel today, and it looked much better than this (btw, she is a pro with 40 years working experience). I agree with Rock Su, adding cream makes no sense.
Dont wanna fuck with dough? This is even easier with phyllo (fillo) dough, which you can buy at most stores. Basically you take the phyllo, lay down a bunch of layers (its ultrathin) down and do the same rolling technique. It makes it flakier than using the method in this video, and it's less headache because dough can be tricky and annoying af.

this guy's cooking videos are great
This guy has such amazing production value and style in his videos. Very entertaining, relaxing and informative.
I love me some good Ratatat with my cooking videos.
I love the scene but it always makes me uncomfortable how she's too nervous to actually enjoy it.
I think that's the great part, the whole scene is tense and Hans Landa obviously knows how to push buttons (ie: ordering a glass of milk) because he clearly recognizes or suspects Emmanuelle and decides to attack her psychologically I could probably go on and write an essay on that scene alone It's great, I love Christoph Waltz's acting in that movie
watching things like this makes me wish i had become a pastry chef instead of whatever im doing with my life now.
I wish I could cook that well. Every time I follow a recipe for something remotely difficult, it always turns out shit. Like I once tried making cornish pasties and they were just awful.
