A man has died from a suspected heart attack after playing computer game League of Legends for 23 hours. Police found the body of 23-year-old gaming enthusiast Chen Rong-yu slumped in his chair in a corner of an internet cafe in Taipei, Taiwan, on Wednesday. His hands were still stretched out towards the keyboard and mouse, according to local reports. Staff at the cafe said that Chen had been playing the game since Tuesday evening and took frequent nap breaks. However, when a female empoloyee tried to wake him on the Wednesday his body was cold. Chen's family told police that he suffered from a heart condition and officers believe that a combination of fatigue, lack of movement and the cold weather, may have caused him to have a heart attack. In February last year a 30-year-old Chinese man died after a three-day online gaming session. The man reportedly lost consciousness at an internet cafe on the outskirts of Beijing after not eating or sleeping. In July the same year Brit Xbox gamer Chris Staniforth died from a blood clot after a marathon gaming session. His dad, David, said that his son would would play on his Xbox for up to 12 hours at a time. He said: "Chris lived for his Xbox. When he got into a game he could play it for hours and hours on end, sometimes 12 hours in a stretch. He got sucked in playing Halo online against people from all over the world. “I’m not for one minute blaming the manufacturer of Xbox. It isn’t their fault that people use them for so long. But I want to highlight the dangers that can arise.”
Source: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2012/02/03/man-dies-after-playing-league-of-legends-for-23-hours-115875-23733574/
heart attack joke
People die watching TV for too long when combining fatigue, heart condition, lack of movement and cold weather. I think you'll die regardless of what you're doing.
LoL
Now we wait for someone to blame his death on video games.
Atleast he died and was happy.
Atleast he died and was happy.
this is the best joke so far
Now we wait for someone to blame his death on video games.
I don't blame it on video games. I blame it on LoL
[b]“I’m not for one minute blaming the manufacturer of Xbox. It isn’t their fault that people use them for so long. I hope he realises that you can control your children for their own health.
Shit, man. What was his ELO?

Did he even get up to go to the toilet? If not that's kinda nasty, being in a public cafe and all.
The guy was 23, Most of the blame should definitely be his for not knowing when to stop.
Then his dad should of taught him to enjoy things in small doses. That's what I've learned and I'm still alive.
"Penta Kill!!" "Oh gawd!" *heart attack*

I hate to be "that guy" but is this really news? Over a hundred thousand people die every day. All it is is publicity to suck more people in for LoL.
the son was 23
Late and he was probably still living at home too.
My heart can't take this. Edit: And neither could his.
it's the kid's fault and only the kid's fault
Should of got a job.
He was a good man, what a rotten way to die. But in all seriousness. These internet cafes really need to have cut off limits, like after 14 hours get out. It's like at a bar when the bartender wont serve you any more.

I wish some of them would have died...
Man, that's just Rong
whoa, that's one long match.
Man, that's just Rong.
you do realize Rong is for tf2 scout, right?
you do realize Rong is for tf2 scout, right?
The guy is named Chen Rong-yu.
This makes me feel so sad.
Am I a horrible person for finding this hilarious?
