Even if they aren't, they sound like them- so please find some better kick/snare/hats.
Also, the track has quite a random structure, where the beat comes in and out at random. Give the track a sense of build up, then breakdown, drops etc. Automating a filter or other parameters on the arp synth would be good.
Also, back up that lead with a bass and other instrument, like a pad.
You need better drum samples.
drum samples sound like arse and there is no bass
the arp lead is really annoying too
sync the first echo to the track tempo.

I was using reFX Nexus (:ninja:) for the lead, and VEC2 for the drum samples. Any suggestions?

VEC has fucking brilliant samples, dunno how you managed to make it sound like that.
I agree. must have picked the worst samples out the whole pack
