Hello!
I've been working on my game called Flowstorm quite a lot this last half year, which is currently a prototype game you can play in your browser.
(You don't have to register to play. Also, it's a really hard game, you die a lot)
I had previously worked with TF2 mapping, on cp_glacier, pl_repository, and a little bit on cp_yukon. After my long time with TF2, I went to work on the Portal 2/Potato Sack crossover levels for The Ball, and then Unmechanical. But when Unmechanical was out, I started working on this in my spare time, and Sranine later joined the project.
We're two developers on this, and we released our Kickstarter about three weeks ago, after loads of hard work, to allow us to work on the project full-time.

Also, here's the Flowstorm thread that was posted a while back. (I asked a moderator before posting about it here, Gurant said it was cool)
I hope you like it :)
If you want some publicity, try to get this on NerdCubed's Free game friday
You know it's a good game when you die a lot but still can't stop playing.
Looks damn impressive, I'll be backing this!

I didn't know about their Free game friday! Thanks :)

Awesome, thanks a bunch! :D
We'll be getting the Standalone Alpha out soon, where you can play and create custom levels soon!
uh just FYI the kickstarter link just links to the words "released our Kickstarter"

Ah, sorry about that! Fixed now :)
I'm no game designer but have you thought of design-able rockets? From the look of your game and how it works, would it be possible to make parts rather than entirely different rockets? Or have both?
Also playing it right now, pretty damn fun.

Thought about it quite a lot!
There's a lot of pros/cons for customization. We came to realize that gameplay customization has lots of design issues when it comes to multiplayer, how it would deal with players with different setups.
Just one of the many design issues is that, certain stats of rockets will inevitably be better on some levels than others, which means that you will want to adapt your rocket to each level you play, which is especially tedious when playing multiplayer racing.
We want to make sure that the skill is primarily in how well you play, not in how tuned your rocket is, which is why I believe the current system will work :)
Looks really cool. Good luck in your future endeavours.
Oh my god, its hard as fuck
Playing this game it really feels a lot like motherload in terms of art direction and such.
Oh my god, its hard as fuck
Did you try both rockets?
I can't get it to launch for me, its looping on "install Unity Web Player"
I can't get it to launch for me, its looping on "install Unity Web Player"
That's odd! Try getting it here, and then refresh the game: http://unity3d.com/webplayer/
this is amazing, will be purchasing
graphics remind me a lot of Nimbus
I completely suck at this but very well done, very fun
Thats whats strange, is I have it, and the installer just says "Click next to install Unity" and then immediately afterwards "Unity has finished installing"
THIS IS TOO HARD
I was concerned that I would be terrible at arena
After reading this thread I feel better
I have the same keyboard as Acegikmo. :o
Also I remember this game from the past thread, it's incredibly addictive, I suggest everyone try it.
I cannot stop playing this. Hands down my new favorite indie game.
Are you guys ever going to consider a mobile build?
dantai is awesome

We have! But it would have to be rather different for several reasons.
You move very fast in this game, so the amount of level you see on your screen is vital, in order to predictably prepare momentum redirection in time.
Input needs to be hyper-responsive in Flowstorm, which is a bit of an issue with current touch devices. It might change in the future though, we'll see what happens :)
Is this easier with a controller?
[editline]22nd April 2013[/editline]
also jenny has good taste in headphones!
Is this easier with a controller?
Might be! Not sure. I think it depends on what type of input you're used to. There's no gradual turning implemented yet though; turning is still boolean, regardless of input device. It will be fixed later on!
I love this so much man, seriously, I will definitely back it when I have the money.
I wish I could donate, this game looks really promising.
If the kickstarter wont get funded what do you think will happen to the game?

It will most likely develop *incredibly* slowly, perhaps even not at all.
If it can suddently pick up a bigger audience, it might still be worth it, but right now I could use the time for an other project that is more profitable to enable us to work full-time with indie development.
Working full-time in our dayjobs, and working on Flowstorm the other half of the day, has become more and more exhausting, due to the pressure that you should work on Flowstorm, rather than, well, anything else. We need to be able to pay for rent/food etc, sadly :(
This is why we launched the Kickstarter, in hope that Flowstorm could properly develop into a complete game. It's a long way to go in a short time, but if we can reach out to even more people, it might work.
Maybe I'm just not using the controls properly, but it doesn't seem as much about the sliding as just avoiding hitting the walls, and landing.
