Just when you think the numbers couldn’t get any worse for Congress, the end of session debacle over the payroll tax extension comes along and drives perceptions of Congress even lower.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just five percent (5%) of Likely Voters rate the job Congress is doing as good or excellent. Sixty-eight percent (68%) view Congress’ job performance as poor. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on December 27-28, 2011 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
well it is quite a large margin error, it could be as low as 2%
Welp. Time for a reform.

The reform would install a government that doesn't ignore it.
5 percent? Wasnt it 4 last month?
1000 people? That's a bit of a small sample size to represent millions of people.
1000 people? That's a bit of a small sample size to represent millions of people.
Oh boy, here we go.
1000 people? That's a bit of a small sample size to represent millions of people.
They're called surveys, go read up.
In fact:

It's not like they just decide to pick 1000 people from some random ghetto that don't approve of Congress. These are people who know what they're doing.
How do we allow this to happen. How can something be so unsupportable yet still a valid government institution?

The New York Times would do that...

Statistically speaking, larger population pools can be extrapolated from the data with a very high degree of certainty.
In other words, statistics is a fairly accurate branch of mathematics. If done right.
They do say that it is +/-3% with a 95% level of confidence.
I blame the education system. If the American peoples were more educated, then we wouldn't be picking morons and pseudo-Christians as politicians.

Nothing wrong with having religious beliefs, as long as you don't use the bible as a guide to running a country.
i am either going to criticize the way these numbers were obtained or defend them as soon as somebody tells me which party has control of congress

I blame the fact that the children are brain washed to hate education because of our corrupt government not even bothering with doing anything for it. Seriously, the Army cares more about my education than the education system.

Both parties have not been doing their jobs very well lately. (See: NDAA, SOPA)
I would imagine Jeffery Dahmer's approval ratings are about tied with congress.
