The show is about two day-time plumbers, night-time ghost hunters, Jason and Grant. They have a team that researches and gets calls about places that have violent histories, or, are in general, just haunted. They travel to these places, get professional tours and stories on the history and sightings, and then set up all of their equipment and go out and try to catch evidence of said sightings/hauntings.

Ghost Hunters is aired on the Sci Fi channel and has new episodes every Wednesday. It is also on at random times during the day, so if you have a DVR, set up some recordings. I haven't really watched Ghost Hunters: International that much, but you might want to check the TV listings to make sure.

Personally, my favorite episode is when they investigate the Eastern State Penitentiary. It is filled with compelling evidence, and some pretty scary and unexplainable parts.

Personally, I feel this show is really awesome and is the most legit paranormal show. For some reason, I can't find belief in the show Paranormal State. It seems a little to unrealistic and there is way too many sightings/sounds to be considered real.
But, I something I think is cool about Ghost Hunters is that whatever evidence they find, they go to great lengths to debunk/disprove such evidence to make sure that whatever happened, wasn't real.
This show can be summed up thusly:
Look for ghosts
Don't find ghosts
Act enthusiastically disappointed
This is the only ghost show I trust that they don't bullshit us.
I like how these guys actually try to debunk it instead of just saying "THAT WAS DEFINITELY A GHOST"
Do they use the stupid "EM readings" and "cold spot" pseudoscience bullshit?
I really enjoy this show, opposed to the college kids locked in a "haunted mansion" screaming at the top of their lungs, running around bumping into shit.

They use EVPs as evidence, but all I ever heard was some bullshit sound that could've been anything. The only reason why it convinces the house owners is because they're desperate for proof of ghosts, their brain suggests it is what the Ghost Hunter says it is.

It's just people genuinely curious about the afterlife. It's a hobby much like your hobby is PC games

that's the thing. We shouldn't have believers of the paranormal to investigate the paranormal. This may sound stupid, but we need hardcore skeptics to investigate "haunted" houses like James Randi.
Despite this skeptic bullshit stance, all of these guys are hardcore believers of the paranormal , operate in dark rooms, and desperate for proof of ghosts. When these three things are in effect, the brain plays with them, creating an unreliable investigation.

Electronic devices don't have personal beliefs, therefore it's already a reliable investigation.
I mean I agree that they're hardcore believers, but I'm just saying that what they're doing is a reliable way.

None of their EVPs are factual proof because it's open to drastic interpretations. Every EVP they showed sounds completely different from what they say and what I think.
In fact, this doesn't make sense at all, if the ghosts are trying to communicate with you. Why the fuck do they need to make vague comments and move chairs? If they can move a chair, why not just write "I AM HERE" with a crayon on a wall? If I was a ghost that wanted to communicate with the Ghost Hunters, I would just slap their faces and write something. Not move a damn chair to the left or make some vague EVP thats open to interpretations.

Except there's no reason to believe "Ghosts" are detectable through ambient electrical emissions and patterns.
For that sort of thing to be admissible evidence you will not only have to have an instance in which a positive result can be replicated, but you also need a control group. That means you need to have proven ghosts exist in the first place.

Not trying to purposely bump a week old thread but this is important
Ghost Hunter's as a whole, their basic motto is "If you set out to prove a haunting, anything will look like evidence. If you set out to disprove it, then you're only left with things that can't be explained away"
So, is this show actually entertaining to watch?
It's on Syfy all the fucking time but I usually just skip it.
I like the lighthouse ghost one. Where someone or something look down, and scared the bajeezes out of the team.
I stopped watching The Sci-Fi Channel all together when they changed the name to SyFy, who the fuck came up with that shitty name.
