To be honest I wouldn't want to be seen around my son if they dressed like that.
It's fine if there's some sort of purpose to it. But that kid's just a moron.
I don't mind people dressing like this, hell it even seems rather appealing to me but the whole ''i want to be different than everyone else/life is suffering'' i simply hate.

Ironically by wanting to be different than everyone else it's often the case that they're the same as everyone else in their life.
That dad is a asshole and should get a haircut himself.
I don't care how he dresses or what gender he fucks, but I do care how he acts like a stupid piece of shit and makes up some bull about 'society oppressing him'. People like him contribute nothing, yet take everything as if they have an innate right to it.
In other words, clothing doesn't make the man, his actions do. And so far all we see of this kid is that he has a GPA of 0.57 and doesn't have a job, yet wants his dad to help pay for his car.

And yes, the dad should be a bit more tolerant. I thought it was funny when he said that he 'acted black'.
In this situation, both the father and the son are idiots in their own ways.

This. This so much. I cannot stand the "SOCIETY IS NOTHING BUT BLACKNESS AND PAIN" act. Fucking stupid.

These kinds of shows are full of idiots.
Everyone is stupid.
I agree with the dad.
They're both idiots
Its probably just a phase.
But i have been thinking about this alot. You know the people who has tattoos all over their faces
and arm?
How are they going to be when they get old? Its a pretty knew thing and im a bit curious about whats going to happen to these persons when they grow up, get a house and get old and shit.
He's only 15
Well there you go.
Haha, Ricki Lake
Why not?
Aren't these people paid to act in shows like this and Maury?
There's a good reason Marilyn Manson is the way he is, and he has a reason for looking the way he does. He's a symbol of freedom of expression for me and freedom of words, and his words have a pretty good and enlightened meaning behind him. It's not about being a rebel, it's about expressing yourself as you see fit, not just to fit in.
This kid doesn't understand the meaning behind Marilyn Manson.
the Dad makes me think of Megadeth for some reason
If my dad was to sit and call me a freak I would have hit him. Hard.

Manson is a joke, about as intellectual and enlightened as your average 14-year old who just read a book by Nietzsche while listening to NIN's Downward Spiral on repeat.
It's all the same old boring slogans and messages which have been regurgitated time and time again since the punk explosion in the 70s, just with an added coating of extremely forced shock tactics and aesthetic gimmickry.
Musically, Manson is highly derivative and unoriginal.
From watered-down imitations of Thrill Kill Kult and White Zombie(bands which were shitty to begin with) on his debut, to the Downward Spiral v1.5 sound of Antichrist Superstar and the blatant, embarrasing Bowie imitation of Mechanical Animals(both sound-wise and concept-wise), Manson doesn't have an original bone in his entire body.
If you already want to listen to music which communicates with your "dark, misunderstood soul", at least go listen to good stuff instead.
Like post-punk or or noise rock or something.
And everybody in that video is a moron.

Because art is objective, right? Also, you completely misunderstood what he was saying.

I like Marilyn Manson because I like the sound, so what? and it's not about being "Dark", that's not how I interprate it at least, it's about doing what you like because that's what you like, not for the approval of others. You really didn't get the point of my post, did you? Sure shows how smart you are.
I don't listen to and do what I listen to to feel dark or "Cool", anyone who says that is a fucking idiot and needs to be beat. I listen to what I listen to and do what I do because that's the best I can do and that's what I like doing.
BTW, Marilyn Manson sings to express himself, not to impress people. Even though he was harassed over it, he did it anyways because that was just him.
It's funny because it reminds me of my dad. I mean if i dressed up like that, my dad probably act the same.

Whoah there bud, point that passive-aggressiveness is a different direction.
Was just pointing out that for all the talk of individuality, originality and being true to yourself, nothing about Manson is even remotely original, authentic or revolutionary, and his entire act in all honesty has more in common with Britney Spears or ICP than the Clash or Iggy Pop.
[editline]25th January 2012[/editline]
And lmao at the kid in the video.
From wigger to mallgoth in a year, very impressive.

As opposed to your incredibly direct aggressiveness.

yeah and I like MM's music because I like the sound and tone, I'm not saying he's original or revolutionary, I'm just stating his message. You're completely putting words in my post... and your pretty aggressive yourself there.
MM is probably the "heaviest" in heavy tone that I'll listen to at all, other than that, it's stuff like Elbow, Reggie Watts, the Beatles, or even this.

Society is full of that shit and even more....and that more is good stuff!!!But god damn it we are all facing problems all the time but we face em without dressing and acting like fucking cunts and indeed people can dress however they want but their attitude towards others is what counts.
I like Marilyn Manson because I like the sound, so what?
Same here. I don't listen to a lot by him, but I do like it. I dress normally and listen to whatever I feel like listening to just because I like how it sounds. I like a lot of industrial music, then later I'll be listening to drum n bass, heavy metal, rock, occasionally some old rap, etc.
If it sounds good to me, I'll like it. I prefer a large variety over a few select things.

Knock yourself out bud, was just pointing out that Manson kinda sucks.
Come to think of it I could've just have wrote "Marilyn Manson sucks" and be done with it.
And I wasn't aggressive at all what are you people talking about.
