I know the resolution is fucking shit.
I usually like this series, but this was stupid.
Incredibly disjointed episode. What are they actually trying to say here?
I wouldn't say taxes are bullshit. How some are implemented and used can be. This episode comes across as a little biased and shit though, but I don't really know how the American tax system works.
I have no idea where to even begin, that video was awful. That pie analogy though, holy shit that's some impressive stupidity on display. Also David Cay Johnston is portrayed as sympathetic to this "FUCK YOU, GOT MINE" Libertarian garbage of Penn & Teller, but he hates those people. He advocates for tax code reform in order to make everyone pay their fair share. At the moment those piece of shit, moocher plebs can be charged the same percentage as the glorious patrician master racers like Penn Gillette and Mitt Romney. In the latter case he payed something like 14% on hundreds of millions of dollars because WHOA being wealthy helps you find ways to cheat the system. Taxing $40,000 a year at the same rate as $1,000,000 or $10,000,000 or even $100,000,000 is not sustaintable, equitable or morally right. And casually ignores the relative value of money to those groups of people.
The implementation and tax codes/laws/freebies is stupid; taxes themselves are a necessity. Just doing flat taxes would be nice

I wish they would've done the Bullshit episode on there own episodes like they had planned.
I haven't even seen the episode but I can't say I'm surprised that Facepunch didn't like it.
You are the reason Mitt Romney was able to run a campaign.
THE FIEND!
Taxes arent stupid, what the politicians decide the tax money goes to may or may not be stupid.
taxes are only bullshit when the govt. is incompetent
Rather than saying taxes are bullshit it is the method of taxation that is bullshit.
I find it ironic that a show about calling out "bullshit" would so readily advocate an outdated and unworkable system of taxation. I guess Penn and Teller can't see past their own perspective bias on the issue; I've certainly started thinking twice about some of the other things they've claimed on the show.
