Spoiler alert!
[sp]it's because he was black[/sp]
I don't understand how you hire people to be a cop if there that jumpy.
Personally I believe all cops should have should have therapy and have to see a psychiatrist at least once a month.
Fucking hell, how stupid is that cop.
He asks to see his license, and shoot him when he tries to get it?
What the fuck is wrong with that guy.
because he was black AND quickly turned around
There was nothing abnormal about the way he turned around and reached to get something out of the car. He jerked out of the car because he was being screamed and shot at.
On the plus side, he's probably gonna be a few million dollars richer after the lawsuit does its job.
Freedom yeah america
What was wrong with that cop.
so... he got shot by doing what the policeman ordered him to do :suicide: , also don't read the youtube comments if you value your sanity. :v:
What was wrong with that cop.
Judging by the "Bro, you dove straight into the car" the officer said, my only guess was he was way too trigger-happy mixed with paranoia.
What was wrong with that cop.
If you look at his face in the article he has that dumb southern inbred face. He's probably dumb as fuck and crazy as fuck.

I wish I could see some data on police shootings and resulting legal settlements. That is a long, hard, uphill fight against a legal system that is heavily biased toward protecting police. We assume most people get a decent amount of money in the end, but I personally suspect more people get screwed than we might think.

On edge as fuck.
The cop asked him to see his license but the guy did not acknowledge the cop and quickly reached in his vehicle. I believe from this perspective the cop was right in that it could have easily been a gun, but it could have been handled much more differently.
The cop should have asked the man to come over to him, ask 1 or two offical questions ( Is this your vehicle? - Where are you travelling today sir ) - Calming the situation before asking for the license.
The fact that the cop was so straight-forward to the license, and the guy so gob-smacked that he just was asked and was probably abit shakey ( quickly getting the license from his car ).
They are both essentially in the wrong, with the cop being the bigger fool by not engaging the situation better.
Also, the black jokes are not funny, this bullshit mentality is why we are still in the 1970s on racial equality.
this is already on the front page of SH

You have got to be fucking me, rofl. The person who was shot at for absolutely no reason is in no way in the wrong.
The black jokes are not jokes, this is in South Carolina and the officer looks dumb as fuck. He is probably genuinely prejudiced.

mods close pls
Really glad this idiot missed most of his shots
Bad shooting, no ifs ands or buts about it, but do realize that diving back into your car, even if an officer asks you for something and that something is in the car, it's called an affirmative action, and when an officer sees it they prepare for the worst. Any large PD officer is going to think about cover and have his hand on his gun ready to go when they see one. This officer was a complete moron, probably his first week without an FTO holding his hand, and completely panicked over it, and does not need to be wearing a uniform. And he rightly so was stripped of his job and thrown in jail with an extortionate bond.

Except that he wasn't "diving", he was reaching for something at a normal speed.
Hmm... that trooper is stupid, racist or both.

It's still what the police call an affirmative action, and warrants defensive actions by the police, such as putting your car between you and the guy, which this officer also didn't do during his all out assault. He was just a complete idiot and panicked. What happened was during his months of ride alongs he's always been told to be careful for such actions, and then he finally sees one, and he's alone, he tweaked out and lost his shit
Sometimes dumbfucks slip through the cracks in academies. What's worse is if you live in a town that doesn't even require you to go through an academy to be an officer. Where I live, they'll stop you, you give them your CCW and license, they back up like you're the guy who robbed a 7/11 and call for back up. Then when the backup gets there, they take the gun during the stop (Which is perfectly fine) But then hand it to you afterwards with the ammo still in it. Or they'll pull you over at night, and they don't walk in front of their headlights a couple times before getting to your window to make it look like there's more than one of them... Some PDs are just sub par. Reaaally sub par
Even top PDs have dip shits slip through. In Nashville there was a robbery taking place at a gas station, and this female cop arrived, took cover behind a news paper stand and capped the first three people out of the store. One was wearing a tie. Not only did she lose everything after the incident, so did her Field Training Officers for giving her a pass
He asks the guy for his license. The guy turns and reaches inside his car for his wallet. The cop screams at him to get out of the car. The guy, obviously startled, turns around out of the car. The cop then shoots him for getting out of the car.
Clearly it's the guy's fault for following the cop's directions. Doesn't he know he's supposed to do what the cop is thinking, not what he's saying? He should have held his hands up and gotten his wallet with his face. Once the cop yelled at him, he should have slowly and instantly got on the ground.
I read an article stating that this officer earned a medal for stopping some guys who eere firing on police. There wasn't really a clear way to tell that the guy would do this.

It's South Carolina, practically everyone is black even if the census tells a different story.
I live near this gas station.
I'm glad that the trooper is actually being charged with assault and battery. He shot a man, the man didn't die, the officer gets charged accordingly. As far as horror stories with police go, this one has a relatively happy ending.
I can understand the officer's concern but shooting was SO off the limits. If he was really concerned about safety he should've ordered the guy back in the car or something.
Justice served with the justified use of force.
you have to be pretty dim to think that the victims race had nothing to do with this
Yeah having guns readily available for everyone sure creates a safer society.
This cop is clearly in the wrong, and has no place respresenting the law since he's so jumpy but I mean.. imagine what it must be like knowing that any second a guy could get his gun and blow you away in 3 seconds.
In Europe cops are different, noone has guns. So much more relaxed.
It's literally national headline news here in the Netherlands when a cop has to draw his gun.
