Slow nighttime internet

At around 6 my Internet slows down a TON. Any ideas why?

Yeah, I had the same problem aswell... Back in 2000.

Back then the idea was that too many people were using the Internet at the same time in my neighborhood. Not sure if that is still a problem now though.

I've read somewhere that some ISPs cap in the evening because they figure that's the time when you would least be using it.

Actually, my internet speed usually increases with 300-400kb/s in the nights.

I had this on my old ISP I'd gone over the fair usage cap and they were capping me from 7pm till midnight. First thing to do is phone up your ISP and ask if you are being capped

I have 25 megs down, 2 megs up. at 3 AM that's what I get, at 5 PM I sometimes get 0.3 Megs down, but Upload stays 2 up

Actually you probably don't know shit OP since you think the big bad "Mac router" is causing the problem, so I'm gonna go ahead and say the problem is that you're sharing bandwidth with everyone on your block and peak hours (at around 6) means everyone is trying to check their facebook and watch funny cat vids on Youtube all at the same time.
