I finally bought a kit that had offroad wheels, and shocks that i could use. I built this buggy, starting from the engine up, pulling every design feature from the back of my head, meaning i built it from scratch. It has a realistic frame setup, and has a lot of suspension travel. I wanted to make an independent front suspension w/ steering, but i couldnt get the steering arms lined up so i said 'Fuck it' and threw on a solid front axle. I might try another independent type later on, when my temper has cooled. C&C, what i can improve on mostly.

BTW, in the last picture, what brand of watch is that? i know its a cold-war era soviet submariner's watch, but thats it...
I remember the days when legos were legos, then the brainstorms kit came out.
All hell broke loose, odd piece shapes, and now...
All these bits and bobs and thingamajigs... nothing left of true legos, save for two bricks.
...also, love the watchband, but can't help with the name. :buddy:

LEGO Technic has been around since the 70s and has always had an emphasis on complex mechanical constructions rather than straightforward brick building. OPs model looks more like Technic than Mindstorms anyway, since it doesn't appear to have any complex sensors or programming.
I kind of wish I had gotten in LEGO Technis after seeing all the cool stuff you can create with it.
was more of a statement of the more recent kit boom, where pieces have become increasingly more and more custom-molded to the model, as opposed to using the array of mass-produced pieces. That was part of the charm, if you ask me.
Plus, mindstorms had a lot of technic bits in it, I remember that much. I know that technic was around before then, but it was around the time the mindstorms hit the shelves that I started noticing the strange shift in the amount of custom pieces. :/
I like technic because of the things you can do: Like, a roll cage, linked suspension, engines, stuff you couldnt do with normal bricks. Also, sorry about the blurry pics :frown:
Holy shit is that a butter finger..

Lol, that made my day a good one. Otherwise, today sucks...
At first I had a feeling this would be trolled for being too childish but damn
As for the car itself, nice job, I could never get that awesome ^_^
Thanks. Right now, i have a lego rock crawler. It looks really cool. I should upload some pics of it
It looks good, you should take clearer pictures next time though.
I'm sure there are a lot of people around here who can help you with that, to me it looks like you've got it zoomed in a bit too much and the focus isn't on what you want to take the picture on.
Lego is so badass :smug:
