The head of the Alternative for Germany party has suggested sending rejected asylum- seekers and illegal immigrants to islands outside of Europe. The model has been applied in Australia. Frauke Petry, head of the Alternative for Germany (AfD), believes that the role of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) should be that of an authority that can "reverse migration." "Illegal migrants and asylum-seekers whose applications are rejected will be accommodated on the two islands outside Europe that are protected by the United Nations," Petry suggested in an interview with the Bild newspaper.
Source: http://www.dw.com/en/send-rejected-asylum-seekers-to-islands-afd-leader/a-19473591

This model works to a degree. However, It depends on government and if interest groups don't attack it in courts because we originally had it install under liberal government as the pacific solution but under the labor government it was dismantle and during that time about 2,000 people died trying to make it to Christmas island then that same government but different leader attempted to bring it back but it wasn't until the next government the liberals that brought it back. Recently interest groups which want to allow anyone into the country without any form of identification have been attacking the solution in the supreme court and its recently been ruled as against human rights.
This model works to a degree but it really depends on government.
Europe's handling of the crisis has been so incompetent that we can't even maintain camps close to, or within our cities that don't spread diseases, have proper accommodations and food and sufficient policing resources. If it's a humanitarian crisis now, imagine emulating a program that is already known to heavily infringe in human rights and result in deaths and injuries.
In Euros case that problem of asylum seekers is ongoing and has always been a problem, It's a much shorter distance. Which means if people do get deported they can just try again.
Yeah, because crossing large bodies of water really stopped them before.
Kebab Island
thank christ they're not sending them to the caribbean
These islands would be most suitable, but I have a better idea. Just put them all in a base on the moon. Mars would be the even better, as its even farther away from Europe, but we have to stay realistic.

We need a reality TV show where refugees are sent to an island and have to build a colony for the host country on a deserted island. Each week someone is voted off the island and sent back to their home country. The last remaining refugee is granted citizenship, the island, and the island is named after them. I call it: The Refugee Apprentice
While I'm not 100% on the morality of deporting migrants to distant islands, it seems rather interesting as a concept. On the one hand, those who sought to escape their war-torn homelands to start anew would have their wishes granted, in a peculiar fashion. But on the other hand, unless the folks deporting the migrants gave them the resources needed to build up their own little settlements, it would be a lot harder for them to make a home in those distant lands. (unless the migrants are integrated into the small settlements already on the islands, which would make things a little easier) Though I doubt the European Union would be able to send migrants to the "Saint Helena Territories" (Saint Helena, Ascension, and Tristan de Cunha) in the South Atlantic, on account that those are British territories and we're being dragged out of the Union thanks to a very slight minority. Sooo they'll probably need to make use of different islands, or make Theresa May a better offer. Such as performing a ritual involving anti-ageing cream, cookie batter mixed in the moonlight, and a live chicken. Or if that's too obscure, just give her a pair of ruby slippers.
To be fair, the Middle East would be in a lot better place if we had done this with Israel.
Ahah, how, exactly. The Ba'athists would still be there The Wahhabis would still be there The Saudis would still be there I mean really
Because we suddenly plopped a new group in, sanctioned them by international agreements, and then armed and funded them to the point that they are now a controlling superpower in the region. I suppose it wouldn't be much better if a large swath of ocean was declared the sovereign property of Israel, but at least they couldn't start building houses there and kicking out the locals. I mean, they could build artificial islands, but it is not quite the same thing.
And what are you gonna do to them in that island Mr.Nixo-- I mean, Mr.Petry?
