Nearly half of voters, 48 percent, are opposed to impeaching Trump, and 12 percent remain unsure, according to the poll. Pollsters also found that a majority of voters, 52 percent, would prefer former President Obama in his old role rather than Trump; 43 percent prefer Trump, and 5 percent are uncertain. “Usually a newly elected president is at the peak of their popularity and enjoying their honeymoon after taking office,” PPP President Dean Debnam said in a statement. “But Donald Trump’s making history once again with a sizeable share of voters already wanting to impeach him, and a majority of voters wishing they could have Barack Obama back.” PPP polling found that 49 percent of voters disapprove of Trump’s performance since his inauguration on Jan. 20 and 47 percent approve.
The PPP survey of 725 registered voters was conducted via phone and online interviews Jan. 30–31.
Always look at the numbers when news articles publish poll articles.
And also impeach Pence in same time too you add it Because fuck 25th amendment for allow Vice President automatically filled now former president previous position.
Always look at the numbers when news articles publish poll articles.
700-1500 is a pretty good sample size to extrapolate.
Always look at the numbers when news articles publish poll articles.
Point being? It's not like they only surveyed 30 people. While it's not 1000, 725 is a decent amount. Plus, it's from PPP. Edit: All the people rating that post really need to brush up on stats.
Always look at the numbers when news articles publish poll articles.
725 is fine as long as it's sampled properly.
Yeah, 725 is large enough that the margin of error becomes pretty small. And even so, I feel like the public outcry in general is a show of it. Just look at pictures of the Women's March, look at how quickly people gathered outside airports to protest the recent travel ban. The number doesn't surprise me.
"I don't know how statistics work"
It's like clockwork in a thread where a poll is in question. Methodology of the poll is the real thing people should be looking at, if they feel something is off.
Anyway, back on track. We're approx. 3 weeks in. Can anybody see him making it to a full term? Let alone being reelected?
cool, impeach him and then pence, ryan, hatch, tillerson, and szubin and we can have president mattis make america great again again
Only 4 in 10? Should be 10 in 10. How anyone can still support him after all the shit he has done is beyond me.
It's like clockwork in a thread where a poll is in question. Methodology of the poll is the real thing people should be looking at, if they feel something is off.
Thing is, he wasn't looking at the methodology of the poll. Just the number.
Only 4 in 10? Should be 10 in 10.
Going be months to reach 7 out of 10 want impeach Trump
Only 4 in 10? Should be 10 in 10.
12 percent stated they didn't quite make a decision. As far as we know, that may shift to half of America's registered voting population thinking he should be impeached.
Always look at the numbers when news articles publish poll articles.
The problem with all polls is that they can be quite easily discredited by someone saying "no one asked me". All polls are inherently flawed because of the whole "sample" thing, it may be "scientifically" selected, but it's still just a small group of people getting asked the questions. While I do think Trump's Presidency will be cut short one way or another (most likely him resigning out of stress) I don't expect most people in America will be comfortable, and they will very soon remember why they hated the establishment and decided to vote for him in the first place.
So... basically those who didn't vote for him are supporting the idea of impeaching him?
So... basically those who didn't vote for him are supporting the idea of impeaching him?
More people voted for Hillary than Trump in case you have forgotten.
So... basically those who didn't vote for him are supporting the idea of impeaching him?
Sure, you can take that angle. Or as the article states, this period is where a president is supposed to enjoy the highest approval and satisfaction rating of their stay in the White House. Trump is far from it.
Only 4 in 10? Should be 10 in 10. How anyone can still support him after all the shit he has done is beyond me.
That's GOP voters for ya.
Only 4 in 10? Should be 10 in 10. How anyone can still support him after all the shit he has done is beyond me.
hasn't he done what he said he would do?
hasn't he done what he said he would do?
Yeah and at the same time he's fucking up royally. If whether a president follows through on his promises is your only basis for supporting him or not you're a fucking idiot (not aimed at you specifically).
hasn't he done what he said he would do?
Cool he promised to be a shit person. That doesn't translate to high approval ratings..Wtf. "I promise to destroy health care" *Destroys health care* "WTF why do people hate me???!"
hasn't he done what he said he would do?
i see people bring this up a lot. so fucking what? you don't realize that people are mad BECAUSE he's doing "what he said he would do?"
hasn't he done what he said he would do?
he has a very selective memory
Sure, you can take that angle. Or as the article states, this period is where a president is supposed to enjoy the highest approval and satisfaction rating of their stay in the White House. Trump is far from it.
According to the article 47% approve of his performance. That's not really far from how much % he actually got from the population. Again, not really surprising.
hasn't he done what he said he would do?
This is why I hold his critics in contempt: they're basically incapable of two things which make for a halfway rational opposition: an ability to begrudgingly respect an opponent when he keeps his promises, OR being able to admit to a certain amount of relief when he goes back on what you saw as his most dangerous proposals. They will never allow themselves to give him any credit, the telltale signs of hacks.
Yeah and at the same he's fucking up royally. If whether a president follows through on his promises is your only basis for supporting him or not you're a fucking idiot.
I never said I supported him, I'm merely pointing out that if the poll is correct, a lot of people who have changed their minds must of known what they were voting for, nothing he has done so far has come out of the blue.
