The British creator of the hit Candy Crush Saga game has reportedly used US rules to secretly file for a stock market flotation, valuing the firm at $5bn (£3.1bn).
King - which is based in London's Tottenham Court Road - is currently the largest developer of games on Facebook, having overtaken Zynga of Farmville fame.
The firm, which produces gaming products for the mobile market, makes its income through player purchases of in-game products such as extra lives and is said to make $600,000 daily from Candy Crush Saga.
Well Fuck.

Can't edit the bloody OP -_-
I should find a simple yet addictive game, completely rename it, put it on Facebook and make millions.
-snip-
obviously pointing out the rules isn't good enough.
here's the source, since godinthehouse couldn't be bothered to post it.

Candy Crush is a stupid game. I don't understand why people play it.
Edit:
I actually did try this game, I got bored in a minute.

Stupid, but addictive.

What, like, replace jewels with jelly beans, and give bejewelled a new name? Class Idea.
Never played bejewelled or Candy Crush. Do I get a medal for not playing Facebook type games or something?

Bejewelled isn't just a facebook game, (well, it wasn't until recently, now all that blitz bullshit has taken over, the original game isn't buyable from the app store any more.)

This is insane
things that kill my faith in the future of video games
The only game i play on facebook is 8 ball pool and it's the best flash game ever and no candy faggety shit is going to change my manly ways
90% of that is my grandmother spending my money.
Well damn I should stop procrastinating learning coding if I can make generic game brand #34454 and make billions.
I'd rather play Panel De Pon
I've never played Bejeweled, but Candy Crush is a damn addicting game. Especially when you have friends to compete with.
That's a lot of money per day...
I was listening to the radio on my way to class one day and the hosts were talking about how a guy's girlfriend broke his Xbox because he spent 2 days straight playing GTA V.
To hear what others had to say, they took some callers to listen to their thoughts on the matter.
One lady who (judging solely on her voice) was an obese southern woman said 'he deserved it' saying 'video games are bad for you anyways.'
The host then argued that 'people played phone games a lot, and you don't hear any stories of people destroying phones over candy crush.'
The woman obviously sounded flustered at this remark and stated "Well, candy crush is different! You don't kill dogs and women in candy crush!"
And then commenced, like, a 5 minute argument of this woman defending her candy crush addiction and how her money spent on it was "well worth it." It ended with her calling the hosts a bunch of assholes.
:v:
How the hell have some of you never played bejeweled?
Why would we? PC/Console for gaming at home and a real portable gaming system for on the road.

Valve is assumed to be 1 to 3 billion. Indeed insane.

Isn't that just their turnover?
Addictive virtual drugs and gambling of the new age.
They are said making 200,000 dollars a day so this is obligatory:
dont forget to make it an unoptimized and poorly made piece of shit
And charge money to get an optimized version, temporarily of course.
I enjoy Candy Crush when there's nothing else to do, but it's shocking how many people have gotten into it.
It's literally just Bejeweled with candy.
Yep, it is literally just bejewelled with jelly beans. I play bejewelled when I'm bored, but tbh it's not often I have my iPod touch with me.
