My brother got a pellet gun today for his birthay. My mom said, "You better be careful with that. You could probably shoot a hole through James' window!" (James is our neighbor.) So I encourged Joey, my brother, to do just that, saying that he deserved it because I'm kind of pissed James hasn't returned our Fable II game yet, even though we've asked him to.
Okay, so maybe I was half-kidding. But still. Everyone got all quiet and now I'm the pariah in my family for the day. I don't get why no one laughed. I thought it was funny.
Now Joey outside shooting his pellet gun. We should probably be watching him since he's technically too young to be handling it according to the box, but whatever.
So should I tone myself down and fit in, at least with my family, or just say 'fuck it' and strive to make them more uncomfortable? Kind of torn here, though I'm not sure it matters. I don't know if my image is salvageable at this point, anyway.
Its because you aren't funny.
Maybe conside when your humor is appropriate.
Rule #1.Whats funny changes depending on your audience
You were adopted, they're going to disown you.
Wasn't funny
you think you are funny =/= you are funny
i think you're funny
If you had jokingly encouraged your brother to shoot your neighbor's window then it probably would've been funnier. ( to them )
As in not seriously intending to damage someone's property.
you think you are funny =/= you are funny
^sums it all up
Fuck it.
I don't even know where the joke is in the OP
Did you hear the one about the guy who was an embarrassment to his family?
Never make jokes if you think you are funny. Chances are you're not.
OP is a psychotic freak, getting his minions to shoot up his neighbors.
It wasn't funny
It's only funny when nobody around you suffers from the prosses
I don't even know where the joke is in the OP
The subject matter matters less than your delivery anyway.
You probably sounded serious.
A broken window?
My sides are surely splitting.
Make them laugh.
No matter what it costs.
Have you heard the joke about the Updog?

I usually get my funniest jokes from other sources that nobody else that I know knows about. Others agree that they're good jokes, and maybe you should try doing something like that to adapt your humor.
If you think this is a bad idea and you think I should stop, I don't care.
Edit:

I agree, a key to a good comic is definitely delivering your jokes well or else your humor is just as useless as a spork.
I don't even know where the joke is in the OP
OP is the joke.
IMO, i think that's f***ing halarious.
Your jokes make me :froggonk:
You think that's bad? Everyone thinks I'm constantly joking, so even if I tell something really serious, people still laugh..
