Garry's post update:

Hi, I'm Splurgy. Been here since 2005. Probably going to get banned for this post, but I don't really care.
Garry posted this:

Also he's demodded Hezzy, because Hezzy made a Minecraft subforum without his permission and then was annoyed when Garry deadminned him. Apparently Hezzy's reaction was sufficiently bad to prompt demodding.
I only really posted in Gay Pride. I know, herp derp stupid forum, but it reminded me of when I used to post on a smaller forum. We had a real sense of community, you know? It was nice. The drug forum was always very informative and it too had a great community, and Love Advice was pretty amusing. The language forums will also be sorely missed.
When I first joined Facepunch, it was really cool (remember how you used to have to do a grammar quiz to get into certain forums?). I didn't have many friends at the time, but it was fun to interact with. Over time, as the forum grew, I came to rely on Facepunch less and less but outside of general discussion there were good forums there. I remember the Mapping Forum with SgtDoom and that crazy Austrian guy who made rp_hometown1999. I remember having really long discussions with Chris0132 in the "In The News" forums. I remember when the OIFY was Firerain's Furry Forum/The Bear's Asshole (it's warm in here). But it was always such a large forum, it was hard to have a sense of community.
The Custom Forums were amazing. I loved our little "Picture Wars" forum, the first iteration of it. The people on there didn't know it, but it got me through a pretty rough spot when I had mental health issues and the like - it was nice just to boot up MS Paint and fool about. I also loved Roleplay Wonderland with the Drawing Roleplay Gang - remember the Air Hostess, and Dan Ratherman and all that? I miss that, you guys, if you're reading this. Ask MisterTickles for my contact details if you want to get back in touch.
Gay Pride was a really fun community and although I don't rely on the internet for friendship any more, I still managed to make some cool friends through it. So when I discovered it was getting deleted, I was saddened and decided to make this post.
Facepunch has been with me for almost 6 years and I'd be lying if I didn't say it was important to me. Pathetic, I know, but who cares? I don't tell my friends about it, but it's a genuinely fun place to post. Heck, I still have a Facepunch mousemat from that time we could get the free mousemats off that website.
Sorry, Garry, this is probably going to piss you off but when you make such an anti-populist movement, well that's the sign the forum might just start going under. Hezzy's a great guy, he was nice to me in person, and I feel he was a real asset to the community but at the end of the day it's your forum. Feel free to ban me from leaking from the Gold Member Ship (remember when it was called that?) since I think that might still be an offence but whatever.
To everyone else: Yes, the Custom Forums are gone. Feel free to freak out etc., or alternatively respond with "Cool story, bro" or "tl;dr".
I demodded him because he was degruntled and I couldn't trust him.

I de-admined him until I saw his reaction to me deleting his subforum, when I saw his reaction I demodded him.
These were Garry's posts on the subject.
Garry's posts on why Minecraft gets it own forum

If you don't mind me asking why do all the idiots of the minecraft thread get a subforum?
Because it's popular and it's going to stay popular

True but the whole thread was a pile of drama and useless post with some good things in between. Your pretty much looking at the same thing with the subforum.
So minecraft shouldn't get a forum because people in the megathread are idiots?
He hasn't said why he's deleting the Lifestyle and Hobbies section, only that he is. Love Advice and Drugs Discussion are now gone.
From Hezzy:
I'm not going anywhere - I have had the honour of building and being a part of this brilliant community for the past six years and hopefully for many more years to come. I am still going to actively contribute, such as the confessional thread and organising meetings. The only thing that will have changed is that I won't be able to ban you - which is probably a good thing for some people!
This whole "incident" has disappointed me a great deal, especially with the lack of trust exhibited towards me from Garry. I ran this community for six years, I wasn't about to throw my toys out of my pram and try to damage it. Garry claims that he demodded me because I was "disgruntled". Here is what I posted in the Moderator forum;
[img_thumb]http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q198/Hezzy88/ff.jpg[/img_thumb]
Yes, I was unhappy - but I wasn't aggressive or angry. I'm not a person who sugar coats his words - it wouldn't be honest to do so. What garry did was incredibly stupid and it has destroyed hours of work by not only myself and my NationCraft team, but also (and more importantly) the whole community. I moved a lot of the server threads into the Minecraft subforum and as a result they were also deleted.
I created the Minecraft subforum because it was the obvious thing to do. Which other game can you think of has spawned nearly 60 megathreads since it was released? That's right, there hasn't been one! Even garry agrees with my decision to create a subforum, shown by the fact that he recreated it.
Garry says that he was not consulted about this change. This is incorrect. I posted in the moderator forum about creating a Minecraft forum, which a number of moderators agreed with. I also sent a message to garry through Steam. Clearly, he didn't see either of these messages which sums up our past relationship very well.
I went ahead and added the subforum. This is something I've done multiple times before without permission, particularly in the games forums. Normally if garry has a problem with one of the changes I have made, he asks me to revert it or he does it himself. I don't know why this wasn't one of these times.
It may have been wrong of me to create a subforum for NationCraft. However, I do not consider it to be my project - I consider it a Facepunch project. In my mind, this project would bring more people to Facepunch as well as raising awareness and making a positive name for Facepunch. Judging by his posts in the moderator forum, I believe that garry saw this as an excuse to further my own agenda.
I do not have an agenda - my agenda was that of Facepunch's.
I know a lot of you are wanting me to regain my role as Community Manager, but I am afraid it is very unlikely. If I were to ever consider taking up my previous post, the following criteria must be met;

A public apology from Garry to Facepunch's Minecraft community for deleting people's work, posts and threads

A clear line of communication between Garry and I, also for him to acknowledge my messages, so no further complications can arise
I'm sorry if this disappoints you.
Thank you for your time, and thanks for reading this.
Why remove them?. They where used!
I'll miss Hezzy, he was one of the only actual good ones
and although I knew all of this already, informative
the whole idea of demodding someone over a little subforum being created is silly, but then again one has to think of the ladder of power
up to this point, the whole "I make the decisions and nobody else gets a word everything I say goes" set by garry has been kinda okay, but now it's been going over the line
Like I said in GMF: I hope this is only temporary and Hezzy's status is reinstated soon.
Aww, no more Deutsch Subforum.
Well, at least the Furry forum is gone.
I miss Hezzy already.
Magritte is not happy.
That sucks hezzy was a good mod.
R.I.P Hezzy
I feel with you, but they are not gone. At least not yet. I saw a post posted in the Swedish subforum on the ticker just a few seconds ago
Why remove them?. They where used!
Garry's not giving a reason to this. I suspect he just thinks they're stupid, or perhaps it's a move to punish Hezzy? I'm not entirely sure.
I would beg to differ...
Ok, they are back to unhidden status.
I feel with you, but they are not gone. At least not yet. I saw a post posted in the Swedish subforum on the ticker just a few seconds ago
They're getting deleted. Love Advice is already gone. My advice to custom forum users is make a new temporary forum while you still can message everyone.
inb4 petition to re-instate hezzy's status
(User was banned for this post ("Meme" - Benji))
Aww, no more Deutsch Subforum.
Well, at least the Furry forum is gone.
I miss Hezzy already.
I think most people will rather have them locked up in 1 section then spreaded out over the forums.
They're getting deleted. Love Advice is already gone. My advice to custom forum users is make a new temporary forum while you still can message everyone.
well they can always create a group and put the discussion in there
unless Garry decides to get rid of those too
i don't think facepunch is "starting to go under" just because the lifestyle forums were deleted
I mean most of those forums just had their small niche communities anyway and there's nothing that couldn't be done with just a group or a thread
[editline]f[/editline]
Also groups substituting for the subforums are pretty much there already or being created
They're getting deleted. Love Advice is already gone. My advice to custom forum users is make a new temporary forum while you still can message everyone.
Well, that's sad... I'll miss them as well
i'd like to know the reason why they're being removed
Good lord.
It has begun.
i don't think facepunch is going under just because the custom forums were deleted
Well of course not. I didn't want to be melodramatic. It's just when admins start disregarding the needs of the community wholesale, it's not a very positive sign.
Whoah Hezzy is gone? That was unexpected.
I hope Hezzy is modded again. :smith:
i'm going to call it. we're going to see an influx of furry bullshit and gay threads.
Hezzy got removed again?
Revolution! I'll just stand back and watch everything happen from a distance and come back when it's safe!
I'm making a temporary shelter for at least Gay Pride and considering making it for all of the Lifestyle subforum. PM me for it.
I dont really mind hezzy being gone.
just come back tomorrow
all this will blow over
I'm going to miss speaking Swedish here.
Well, at least the Furry forum is gone.
They'll invade the rest of the forum now
[editline]23rd February 2011[/editline]
Also I'm going to miss Hezzy a lot.
