It was a drawn film, but not cartoonish manga style, very realistic, but not using 3d models, everything was drawn by hand i assume.
Set in the future, the mankind escaped earth (because of an alien attack i think), and the protagonist was a joung child at that time. Someone (his father i think) gifted him his ring before the protagonist left the earth on an evacuation space ship.
Later, there were some alien attacks, and he discovered that on the inside of his ring there was a map engraved that brought him to a place where all the DNA of everything that existed on earth was stored. In the end he, his girl i think and a few others colonized another planet and used the DNA to recreate every species if I remember correctly.
I saw that film lots of years ago on TV, and it was fantastic. Please please help me finding the title.
