The right-wing women’s group Concerned Women for America (CWFA) expressed outrage on Sunday that President Barack Obama condemned a Ugandan anti-LGBT bill that would punish homosexual behavior with lifetime imprisonment.
According to the Joe My God blog, CWFA spokesperson Janice Shaw Crouse said that the president’s “arrogance is breathtaking” for saying that Ugandan government should stop imprisoning and torturing men it suspects of being gay.
On Sunday, Obama released an official White House statement condemning Uganda’s proposed law outlawing same sex marriages and imposing lifetime prison sentences for repeated homosexual acts.
“We believe that people everywhere should be treated equally, with dignity and respect, and that they should have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential, no matter who they are or whom they love,” wrote the president.
Obama continued, “The Anti-Homosexuality Bill in Uganda, once law, will be more than an affront and a danger to the gay community in Uganda. It will be a step backward for all Ugandans and reflect poorly on Uganda’s commitment to protecting the human rights of its people.”

CWFA’s Crouse found the president’s commitment to universal human rights to be the height of effrontery.
Obama, she said to the website LifeSiteNews.com, “repeatedly insists that his personal values and beliefs are equated with the nation’s values and beliefs. When he insists that those controversial ideas constitute a human right, the president is saying that the deeply-held religious beliefs of many Americans are irrelevant.”
Crouse argued that Uganda has the right idea, that Obama’s efforts to stop the persecution within the country’s borders amount to “cultural imperialism.” Western LGBT people, she said, are just “a very small minority of Americans with outsized influence,” who are attempting to “tear down the moral foundations of our nation as well as the rest of the world.”
The Ugandan Anti-Homosexuality bill is very popular there, she said, a measure that will “protect Ugandans from social deviants.”
“Obama of all people should realize how offensive his position on homosexuality is to devout Muslims,” she concluded.
"arrogance is breathtaking"
Says the guy who
why even bother

Yep
CWFA should just move to Uganda then if it bothers them so much
Obama may not be the greatest President but it's hard not to take his side on this one
When he insists that those controversial ideas constitute a human right, the president is saying that the deeply-held religious beliefs of many Americans are irrelevant.
Irrelevant isn't exactly accurate. Nepotism and croneyism have insured that religious beliefs play a part in all cultural and political what-not-ery in America.
A better word would be offensive or petty.
Is there a word for "needs to be erased from life"?
“Obama of all people should realize how offensive his position on homosexuality is to devout Muslims,” she concluded.
This? Still? fucking retards.
"Wow, you're condemning human rights violations! How arrogant of you!"
Lmao w/e. Fuck off.

Arrogant is the new "uppity" when racists talk about minorities. It's a dog whistle which basically means "doesn't know his place."

This video will never ever be more relevant.

"arrogance is breathtaking"
And somehow, you stupid bitch, this isn't arrogance, much less hubris, in any conceivable way?
"Obama's stance on homosexuals is offensive to Muslims so he's a hypocrite, durrrr"
That's like saying that the Boston Tea Party is offensive to American Indians because the colonists dressed up like them.
Jesus Christ, Never have I seen a more stuck-up, self-centred, egotistical, arrant piece of nonsense than the drivel this woman spewed out of her mouth. The worse part is that people rally around such things.
Let her fucking rot for all I care.
tear down the moral foundations of our nation as well as the rest of the world
This is another thing anti-gay people say like a broken record. It's just meaningless, like a code phrase for "I don't have a rational reason for being homophobic!".
This is another thing anti-gay people say like a broken record. It's just meaningless, like a code phrase for "I don't have a rational reason for being homophobic!".
Except if they'd fucking bother to listen to "My country, 'tis of thee" just one more time before they spout such nonsense, they'll probably understand just how hypocritical they are.
The sad part is that when you point out their own hypocrisy, they'll just ask you to leave them to their delusions in peace.
I agree with her, Obama clearly overstepped his boundaries.
If people are so worried about good christian morals why don't they worry about getting rid of divorce before shitting on gay people.
It's kind of ironic that I'm concerned for America, because of the Concerned Women for America.
Yet another instance where the people have to be corrected by their leader.
More like Concerned Homophobes From America.
As the homophobic community shrinks, they scream louder, in denial of being a minority.
Jesus fuck, what a bunch of delusional sociopaths.
these people have taken their religion beyond religion, and turned into something else
these people are fucking crazy.
[editline]24th February 2014[/editline]
I have a feeling that these people, and people like them, will always hate other people. they just use their "religion" as leverage to express it and get away with it. I'm willing to bet they haven't even read the bible.

At least it hasn't devolved into 'All hail the Anti-LGBT Monolith' just yet, eh?
Another group making their opponents look bad by imitating them and acting retarded IMO. More of this shit than anything these days.
I love how people like this exist to make the lives of LGBT people miserable, which results in said LGBT living miserable lives with depression and suicides, which these piece of shit groups cite as one of the reasons why being gay is bad
did you know 1 in 5 of the gays is also a communist?!
fucking right wing idiots, just because people are gay doesn't mean they deserve death, thats not cultural imperialism trying to prevent this its trying to prevent genocide
Western LGBT people, she said, are just “a very small minority of Americans with outsized influence,” who are attempting to “tear down the moral foundations of our nation as well as the rest of the world.”
OH! OOOH! I get it now! we're the ones literally destroying the world! Not the savages- good upstanding Evangelicals from America, flying to places like Africa in order to brainwash the natives into despising gay people, to the point where they pass legislation making it legal to kill them, for having the BULL TESTICLES to even exist in the first place!
"Our morals support this bill. Our morals are in favor of imprisoning and torturing gay people. How is that NOT the moral thing to do? The president is a savage beast for even wanting to treat everyone equally, spitting in the face of American ideals!"

i can't believe how paranoid some people are
I bet they feel so threatened by everything whenever they step out of their house
More like Concerned Homophobes From America.
"Phobia" imply's fear. They aren't scared there just assholes.
edit: What exactly is untrue about what I said?
And for more hilarity, they're also one of the biggest opponents of the renewed Violence Against Women Act.
Did I say you could speak about this? Bitch, are you retarded?! Are you forgetting what happens when you don't make me a sandwich?!
I don't normally advocate violence against people I hate but if you preach something that will continually get people killed because you're an arrogant self-centered sheltered piece of shit then I think you should reap what you sow.

Naw they're probably mega damaged or something. Best just keep them away from anyone they can hurt/influence till they have learned empathy and understanding.
(Psst Concerned Women, You're making the rest of us right-ish people look like fucktards.)
I may be Republican but I don't see any reason to hate gays. They're people too ya know...
