What next after Half Life 2 blindfolded? Taking a suitcase through the entire game of course

As part of my Half Life challenge runs series I decided to try this after a friend suggested it. I ended up getting to Black Mesa East earlier and it involved about 1 and a half - 2 hours of throwing the suitcase forward and driving a bit in the airboat. It was horrible. Never try it.

little rocket man was absolutely painful, but completey worth it to get that satisfaction in the end. I accidentally left gnomey in the mines ones and had to start over, then he got stuck on the other side of the garage door at the balancing bridge part because I left him with alyx, so I had to lean props against the garage door and open it remotely until the door got jammed just long enough for me to crouch through and grab him, slamming shut just after. Most suspense in a game ever.

I did little rocket man. All the way through the game, even with the fucking jalopy runs.
And then I didn't close the fucking rocket door.
You guys never heard of loading a save?

on challenges, I view saves as cheating.

I feel your pain. I could never get him wedged in the jalopy so it was a case of drive a bit, shoot him with the gravity gun, get back in, drive again repeated for about 3 hours.
I carried Dog's rollermine ball through all of Ravenholm, but I'm not this cool
I'm gonna do this
With a baby doll
Nobody messes with daddy Freeman
I was going to do this with the cactus in Kleiner's lab but I gave up 5 minutes later when it was time to teleport.
Man, this reminds me I have to do Max Payne 3 NYM Hardcore. You have to do it in one sitting apparently.
I can't see how this challenge is possible after you teleport into the lab after Nova Prospekt. I'm sure I've tried carrying something with me from that part of the game.

Don't you have to do it ALL OVER AGAIN if you die? I haven't tried in ages.
Also you can't skip some of the larger cutscenes so playing through is a fucking pain.

Oh. God.
Wouldn't it get incinerated when you enter the citadel?
Wait, I don't actually know. I never actually brought an item into that room....
I tried this with DOG's rollermine, and I got it all the way trough ravenholm, but in the mines at the end you are forced to go underwater for a while so I could not take it with me. It was a great weapon though as it managed to kill headcrabs by rolling into them, and I obviously had a good weapon for the Gravgun.

Probably, I can remember a few places where in theory I shouldn't be able to bring it with me but that's never stopped me before

I tried taking that with me and made it about 10 seconds in before it exploded :(
Update I get to Black Mesa East

Why do you keep unloading into the supply crates! Just use your crowbar please..
I remember when I got DOG's Rollermine all the way to the teleporter in Nova Prospect. The disapointment flowed in when I realized it didn't port in with me :(. Also, a lot of invisible walls were in the way, and the car part? Oh my god it was painful. But I did it. It was also a good distraction for soldiers and zombies and the like.

I dont play by your rules
you realize it'll get destroyed in the citadel along with everything else right
Wasn't there a suitcase 'weapon'? that you could load?
you realize it'll get destroyed in the citadel along with everything else right
the weapon stripper was a scripted scene and wouldn't destroy random props, but i don't see how you could actually take it that far anyway, the pods would make it impossible
Probably become one of my favourite YouTube channels.

I saw on some speedrun video that you could bug it some way so that you didn't actually enter the pod but still run across the path it follows, you might be able to get it with you that way.
You're probably one of the best guys I've subscribed to this year.
Loving your videos, keep it up.

I'll figure something out, I'm counting on it not destroying props because it doesn't expect anyone to bring one in there but we'll see

For a second there I thought it said you were doing the run blindfolded and holding a suitcase.
