I'm really disconnected with my sister and this saddens me. - General

Well facepunch, I am what you would call a family man. I love staying connected with my family and friends, and it is easy because they all live in relatively the same area. But I have an older sister 9half sister0 and she has always lived a little far from everyone else. I haven't seen my sister since, let me think... Christmas 2004 or 05. I have recently seen her at her High school graduation and she is so different, she is no longer taller than me, she has dyed her hair and straightened it (she is a natural blonde even though she is a black girl yeah it's possible) and she even has a couple tattoos. We were really happy to see each other after many years, and we saw how we have changed in our time away. I can't really see her because she lives a pretty far distance from L.A. although still in California. Do any of you guys have a relationship with someone like this even though you feel you should be closer? TL;DR: Haven't seen big sister in like 5 years, really sucks.
